    I think portions (or all) of MANY internet sites are scanned for certain interests (or even specific people they are looking for). Certain people, write in certain ways.

    Personally, I think they do look more closely at people whose philosophies warrant monitoring in websites such as this (and others). After all, many in the government are citizens just like most participating here; they have opinions and likely agree and disagree as much as we do. Still, there are those whose job it is to determine REAL threats to this nation. And rest assured, they surely have more resources than a keyboard and a web page, to help them get things right.

    Nonsense! Not because the government is above such activities, because clearly they aren't. But because what we say at this forum couldn't possibly be less important. They have global power structures in place, a few dissidents on the internet is actually a good thing for them, because it gives people an outlet for their frustration. This forum is simply too unimportant to monitor.

    Well, one thing we know for sure. IF any one of us was ever investigated for something as serious as plotting against the country... every word we've ever typed on this forum and anyplace else on the 'net would be scrutinized.

    I'd say you were right if this was a small forum. But it's not hard for me to believe there are some govt officials who are very interested in what we have to say on certain subjects. However, I agree they'd have to wade thru a lotta lib/con bashing and stupid pics to get much outta some topics.

    It's far more likely that a number of posters actually work for thinktanks and lobby groups, seaking to sway public opinion and keep support for the cause.

    Is much important monitor twitter, facebook and similars... Is there where many dissidents get organized :-D

    Here there is no real dissidence, no real organization. Just discussion, and many people is supporter of the status quo. Just a few could be labelled as dissidents in this forum.

    Dude, you think a think tank cares about an Internet forum that is hardly seen by anyone? Ridiculous. They are going to sway the thought process of a couple thousand in this forum? They do that on tv and radio not a Internet forum. Again, we are not that important.

    The government is watching most internet political sites. However, it's not like they are doing more than scanning for certain key words.
