Gitmo is in Cuba, not Florida. It does have a pretty good climate, though, especially in winter.

PF is a one stop news and opinion shopping store. Random Task has been arrested as a rapist, MO attempts fashion, Australia has smart meter problems just like Canada and Hitchens is dead.

All with opinion, fact and speculation from every angle of the spectrum of humans.

They are the government, and they are lazy. I would expect them to be here. ;-)

This is very true. It's the only income some liberals have, being paid to come here and troll the discussion away from Obaaama.

I suspect the government has better things to do than worry about people who express their opinions on forums such as this.

Actually, it's about 522 miles south of Miami. Not even close to Disney World.

I am probably one of the few people here, possibly the only one, to have been actively "watched by the government" and its various minions.

I had the privilege and comedic entertainment to whistle-blow a large government department of state.

This pilgrim's progress I posted on a prominent activist website already under the watch of another department of no curiosity to me.

    Keep me amused for years.

I tend to agree. They likely aren't interested so much in our individual 'opinions' though... mainly the things you suggested (and possible connections to other people/things of interest to them).

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if they followed certain "computers" to many different fora, to see what certain people are up to. Because of where I work, I think they 'might' be interested to see what I'm up to (for about 20 seconds, at most). :)

I have the good fortune to live in a civilised country where behaviour such as mine was treated, perforcely, without threats of physical violence.

I was always reminded of a story by one of my confreres who was an auditor for Fonterra (NZ's foremost dairy manufacturer - then and now). She worked for a time in Sri Lanka and produced uncomplimentary reports about manufacturing standards there - God only knows why Fonterra had a factory in Sri Lanka).

Her report was greeted with a note under her Columbo hotel door. "Leave town."

Since the going rate for assassinations was $50 a pop in Sri Lanka, she left town.

its stories like that that make you realise how lucky you are ... and also to remember what the right to free speech is really about .... maybe some of the denizens of this forum should try living in places like that ...

might make them appreciate what they have a bit more ...

    mind you ...

coming to this forum makes me appreciate how lucky I am to be australian and not american. :)

That's the ONLY thing that would make me vote Republican. If the Democrats ever were to try to regulate the internet, I would vote Republican.

Indeed. CIA, back alleys, poisoned martinis, disparu - all the toys of a happy little facist state.

So well deployed in Chile and innumberable other countries.

Fortunately, these crackheads or their methods never made it so far south.

Bradley Manning had the misfortune to be American. I had the good fortune not to be.

It is legitimate to the OP but not legitimate in reality. People like to thing they are so important that the Government is watching them on an Internet forum. Ridiculous if you step back and think about it.

Maybe is would make sense if I didn't think about.

The problem with government regulating the internet is that they don't understand the internet.

You mean the same government that is trying to micromanage what doctor I see and how much energy I use would not bother micromanaging my internet use?

Well now, that is a huge sigh of relief for me I can tell you!! :omg:

If you don't understand the internet, you need to ask its creator.

Does anyone have Al Gore's phone number?
