I suppose it goes with the twaddle I read yesterday where somehow the omicron variant is targeting the vaccinated because more vaccinated people have tested positive to it than unvaccinated - that lasted up until one poster pointed out that it came from overseas and only vaccinated people……..

 

Debunked or not proven to be true? I don't think it's been tested to be proven one way or the other or at least not tested sufficiently.

 

How do you know it has “not been tested sufficiently”? Have you done a literature search? Studied the research? Googled an answer? Read an email? Asked a neighbour?

What is the basis of your doubt in for an intervention that is being utilised across the world and has robust reporting mechanisms in more than one country?

 

Yeah, sure, mate. Also, the sky is falling, the vaccine makes you magnetic, infertile, and there's that chip that Bill Gates put in it, which not only controls you but makes you transgender. Have all of these possibilities been sufficiently tested, in your opinion? I'm sure you think that ivermectin has been sufficiently tested, right? Or hydroxychloroquine?

 

The studies that resulted in findings of decreased immunity to non-covid illnesses from covid vaccines have not even been peer reviewed yet. They're just still floating in the 'non-conclusive, recomend more study' realm. It seems like no one wants to even touch (fund) them.

That makes no logical sense. When more unvaccinated are testing positive then conclusions are being drawn about vaccination, but if more vaccinated test positive then the problem lies in the unvaccinated not testing? The logic seem to be turning very fluid around here.

I don't think that's quite what they're saying. So some of this is a bit of a straw man you are holding up.

It's based on studies that are showing that vaccinated people seem like they actually might be more susceptible in certain specific situations.

Of course it is only a theory.

 

It's off topic, but there was one study from Israel that showed it did have a low effectiveness rate, maybe 20%.

I can't believe you were gullible enough to just automatically believe that.

Please, let's use some basic math and common sense here.

The proportion of the overall population travelling overseas would have to be very large for that to account for the difference.

That means the people traveling overseas probably does not explain the curious phenomena away.

That idea that you listened to and accepted is just not actually logical. (You didn't think about it hard enough)

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but both have been used on humans for longer than 1 year. Ivermectin won a noble prize for use on humans in 2015 so, you know...there is that?

MAYBE antivaxxers don't want to take something that was just released yesterday? Even though it's based on sound tried and tested vaccine methodology? Maybe they want to wait until something has been out for a bit longer than a few weeks? Or maybe being told they HAVE to inject something or be treated like a second class citizen doesn't sit well with them?

Or MAYBE they just don't like being told what to do period? Or Maybe they've had a bad experience with the flu shot?

Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't doctors have like...a bed side manner would would allow them the ability to figure all this **** out without me having to explain the how's or why's as to some people electing to not get vaccinated? You are a "doctor" aren't ya? Is the human Id a mystery to you? Why?

Coming from someone who's vaccinated, I chose to because I felt it was ok for me. But I'm certainly able to understand and respect why someone would elect to NOT get vaccinated just yet.

In November on just two flights from South Africa to the Netherlands 18 passengers tested positive for Omicron. Now add on all the other flights to the EU during this period to understand why it's the vaccinated that were showing the most cases. Only fully vaccinated were allowed to fly. It's only in recent days that the Covid cases have risen hugely and these cases are not included in the comparison between vaccinated and unvaccinated Omicron cases yet
