As I said, if the Hyde Amendment is gotten rid of or ignored, it effects all 50 states. At the very best the Texas law would only effect red states. If the left drop their nonsense about the Hyde Amendment then I would come on board as being against the Texas law as going too far.
But the Hyde Amendment is gotten rid of and this law is real. This law has only one enforcement mechanism, that is for one citizen to turn in another citizen. That is ****ed up and the fact you support it just because "the left did it first" makes you part of the reason our country is going down the ****ing *******. Right and wrong no longer matter to people like you, all that matters is your party loyalties.
Fake News. Turning anyone into officials would violate this law. All this law allows is for a civil suit to be filed against those providing illegal abortions. It's almost like you are for illegal abortions or something.
If you cut off the head, you kill the snake. That is the theory behind arresting dealers and abortionists. I am surprised you do not understand this principle.
Which doesn't change the fact that if abortion is murder, then it would be equal to the woman hiring a hit man.
I didnt write the law. Hell, I couldnt care less about the law. So you apparently want the pregnant woman sued as well. Duly noted.
Out of curiosity what happens if a Texas resident says 'Screw this, I'm leaving the State to get an abortion, and there's nothing you can do about it?' For that matter what if someone offers to drive her or pay for an airline ticket etc?
I believe the former president Trump's job was to create this deep, deep divide among us. People are getting angrier every single day. People are being combative and confrontational and people are looking to blame anybody and everybody for "all the problems" we have as a society. Turning us against one another and providing an easy target (ie blacks, illegal immigrants, homosexual people, transgender people, Afghani refugees, Democrats, Republicans, etc.) is the precursor to essentially *deputizing* neighbor to turn against neighbor, family against family, friend against friend. Historically, this pattern has been seen over and over and over. I won't go so far to say it's akin to the rise of Hitler, but there are some very similar patterns. Only we have the power to change it and we can't do that by bickering constantly.
You just figured you would jump in with a non sequitur? Thanks for that. It is always fun when someone comes in and changes the subject to some irrelevant, pointless drivel. Good times.
Thanks for letting me know. That is SO frustrating. It's hard to piece things together when stuff is missing. I get removing things that don't contribute to the discussion but it would be nice if there was some type of public comment for deleted threads so we know what "the problem" was. Their house. Their rules. I get it. ;-0
I never said I supported the Texas law. But I'm not going to speak out against it when Democrats are trying to change the norms and I am pointing out that if you want to change the norms then you shouldn't complain if the other side wants to also change the norms.
You mean the Hyde Amendment? That's what I'm saying, the Hyde Amendment has been the accepted norm for many years, agreed to by Democrats. Now they want to violate it in some way, which would effect the entire country while the Texas law only effects one state. I'm saying that if Democrats want to get rid of the established norms we have been following for many years then they shouldn't complain if the other side does it too.
Violate it? They want it gone. As it should be. Goodness knows how many unwanted babies have been born because of it. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/dem...ill-overturn-hyde-amendment/story?id=78805054
No matter your position on abortion, the unconstitutionality of the TX law as Roe now stands is unequivocal. Apparently the bench's conservatives just couldn't wait to gut Roe with the upcoming MS case coming before them so they violated their oath in breathtaking fashion and should be impeached.
