As I've told you before, my wife and I would never have had an abortion. My supporting freedom of choice does not equal being pro-abortion. And no, it doesn't bother me if anyone chooses to have an abortion...their life, their choice. I don't force my way of life onto anyone. Mainly because I'm not arrogant enough to think my way is the only way. Hence why I support personal freedoms to make ones own choice.

 

The f****** lawyers are going to have a field day with this Texas "law". It's really dumb for the SC to render this crazy onto the people and the Texas legal system.

 

They're not going to flee. Low income folks can't afford to flee, and even if they could, them almost never do. They'll just have the babies and collect welfare to raise them. They'll end up in the gangs and then in prisons. It's Texas choice and their problem, and I agree that the States should have the right to make these kinds of laws. If they can decide on death penalty, and pot, then why not on abortion.

Yes, which is why the new baby-boom in Texas will be mostly among the African American community, and they will mostly likely vote Dem.

 

And they will be the ones', if they actually seek an abortion, in the crosshairs.

We do have too many moochers and lazies in this country. That’s why socialism can’t work here. If liberals could just start using condoms instead of abortions as their primary form of birth control we could avoid moochers and abortions

 

The Hyde Amendment was the Right's attempt at subverting the decision of Roe v Wade. It only creates more paper drama but does nothing for the women who need to get an abortion but can't afford to pay for it. It's a capricious amendment that does nothing.

The Hyde Amendment was agreed to by Democrats and has been the accepted norm for quite a long time now. If you are OK with deviating from the accepted norm then why can't Republicans?

 

I believe the original article in the OP mentions that there already is an outfit in TX designed to assist people in reporting this, so yeah, capitalism at its finest.

In a perfect world, guys would get vasectomies at puberty and have them reversed when they want to reproduce.

And how will they determine if the fetus is 6 weeks old, or 6 weeks and 1 hour? Can an hour be the difference between a murder
charge or not? All fetus develop at various rates. We could be throwing a woman in jail who had an abortion at 5 weeks, 6 days,
and 6 hours, just because she couldn't prove when she had sex? Do we need to have women video tape with time stamp
every sex act just in case? Until we have a perfect time standard for fetus, how does this law get applied?

This is a civil law that allows for abortion providers and those helping them to be sued. It is not aimed at the mother, and it does not lead to a murder charge or even a criminal charge for anyone involved.
