Was their a particular reason why the Obama's had to live in a house so close to their neighbors?

Fences/walls only slow people down, which is why they're useless without a continuous and overwhelming manning of the fortification.

So the wall around Obama's home is not for safety reasons? And how come no one complained about Obama putting up a '"fence" on the border?

How do you know all the fences I climbed as a kid? Likewise, I don't expect a fence on the border to be built the same way as some of the neighbhorhood fences and farm fences I scaled as a kid

Don't disagree...hence why it's very important to fund border security properly.

Which we do, and which Trump is blocking to fulfill a campaign promise that the majority of people don't give a crap about.

Walls, drones, cameras and personnel should be a bipartisan agreement.

No we don't. The Executive Branch, that operates Border Security has asked for more money....and even come down some to compromise, but the left continues to block any additional funding

Probably because they're Chicago natives and had rented the house for a few years and apparently liked it well enough to make it home.

And the wall provides a measure of privacy and safety. Would you agree?

Don't you know the difference between "our" and "are"? You seem to be under the illusion that to "fund border security properly" means to give absolute discretion to every demand any office of government makes in terms of funding. Sorry, don't you know how legislation (which controls the funding of government) works?

That's why the Executive has repeatedly shown a willingness to negotiate and come down to a lower number, but not as low as the Dems want because it won't properly secure our borders. Why are the Dems refusing to compromise to help protect our agents, borders and well America? This is no different when Obama refused to sign legislation that he didn't think properly funded Obamacare, or when Clinton shut it down because he didn't think there was enough money for education, medicare, and the EPA....sometimes a fight between the two happen...it's just when it came to Obama and Clinton they were dealing with the GOP that was open to compromise. Trump isn't so lucky.

As I pointed out already, Donald was given the opportunity to have multiple years of funding for his wall for a DACA fix, but turned it down after initially agreeing to it. Ya'll talking about compromise sure do have incredibly short memories. By the way, negotiating on a number for border security funding by changing around which number you'd take for your wall isn't actually negotiating. Where's the carrot?

Well that went out the window when the 9th Circuit overturned his EO, setting up a SCOTUS case on the DACA issue. So there is no DACA deal to be made at the current time. The draft legisaltion from this summer called for $25 billion for Border Security....the Dems aren't willing to do $20 less now?

For what? You and Donald don't seem to understand that a negotiation ends when one side gets something in return for something that the other side wants. What is Donald offering beyond holding the government's opening as a hostage?

His offer to come off the $5 billion....he's willing to take less...yes to open the Govt. It can't be open until the President signs the bill. Our Founders set it up that way to promote compromise...but I guess the Dems just aren't willing to....so the Govt remains closed.

LOL, so he's simply offering to take less and not offering anything in return except for re-opening something that he personally closed down. Yeah, nah. Good luck with that hand in a poker game.

Well it's easy to say that on the internet, but I don't see no Japanese cutting grass or framing houses. If houses are poorly framed that is on the builder who hired them.

Japanese gardeners are really expensive and there aren't that many Japanese - Americans living in Gardena, California today.

He didn't personally shut it down....it takes two chambers of Congress and the President to agree...don't you know how legislation gets passed? Yes, he's offered to take less money in order to get the Govt open again....it's called compromise.

He personally took credit for the shutdown and McConnell won't allow legislation to reach the Senate floor because of Trump. But, of course that's going to change as Trump's other failures begin to get worse.

McConnell can't get around a filibuster...60 votes is needed. Sure he made it perfectly clear he wanted more money for border security and wouldn't sign legislation that didn't have it....
