It's a totally different situation. It is not analogous to a border wall for our country. As a former president, Obama needs security for the safety of his family. As well, they have a right to privacy, which they would not have without it. They are too famous. It is ludicrous and frankly quite stupid for Drumph to try to compare a private citizen wanting security and privacy to a wall being built between countries. Also, the Obamas are paying for theirs as private citizens. Drumph expects the American taxpayer to pay for his wall.....though he most likely does not pay taxes.

The Senate voted 100-0 to pass a clean CR, so I'm not sure where this line of reasoning that they can't find 60 votes is coming from.

Obama doesn't have to defend anything. It is his private property. Anyone in our country can build a wall around their own home. Period.

Democrats don't know the meaning of the word.

They can't spend $5 billion on a border wall but they can spend $32 TRILLION on another government-run HC boondoggle.

Pure politics and pandering to their drooling TDS-addled base. They fool no one...

    Walls are immoral. Period.

Who asked Obama to defend his immorality?

To pass more funding for border security. A CR merely kicks the can down the road....we spent years doing that when the Dems had Congress last and it was massively irresponible.

Walls around personal property that an individual pays for are immoral? How do you come up with that?

Right, and? The resulting legislation is going to be a CR regardless, Trump just is throwing a tantrum to add wall pork to it.

No, what was proposed was a CR to keep the govt open a little over a month...trump was looking for a funding bill for the next year. Trump went along with putting off border security over and over all year as a compromise with the Dems, they’ve continued to fail to compromise on the issue. They have even failed to fund the 2006 legislation they voted on

I just pointed out to you that Trump turned down a full funding compromise earlier in the year, so I'm not sure if you're being facetious now or what. Also, do you have a link to what Trump has actually proposed in terms of "full funding", because I have not seen him maneuvering at all for any sort of full year of funding for border security.

No legislation was put on his desk, and the 9th Circuit made that deal unworkable. He ended up compromising and past legislation funding govt, just without DACA or border security

No legislation was put on his desk because he immediately threatened to veto it after he initially agreed to it. I'm not sure if you're being disingenuous by saying that "no legislation was put on his desk" or if you've had your head in the sand during these negotiations. While technically true, it appears that you're trying to re-write history and say that Trump hasn't torpedoed MULTIPLE of the bi-partisan deals put forward by saying he will veto them. I'm apparently old enough to remember when Trump said that he would sign ANYTHING passed by Congress.

There actually isn't a wall around Obama's house. That is just Trump supporters just aping whatever lie Trump likes to tweet. Obama just has small fence that is really easy to climb over, and doesn't even surround the entire house.

As for Obama's fence, this came from the Secure Fence act of 2006 under Bush that Obama voted for as senator. This act resulted in the building of 700 miles of fences during the Obama administration, along with increased border security and technology. This act seems to have worked because the number of illegals in the US since 2007 hasn't risen. Instead of making a border wall, lets just expand the secure fence act along with some amnesty for illegals. I think a lot of democrats would support that.

First the illegal aliens from Mexico went after American jobs first in drywall then roofing then framing.
They made those once well paying American jobs undesirable.

Then they went after the gangs and now 1/2 of all gang bangers in California are illegal aliens from Latin America.

Then they went after the Japanese-American gardener jobs.

Then the illegal alien children (anchor babies) went after the California state legislature.
