The plan was to steal tools. Then customers drew their guns

I guess you can say that challenging a criminal is like growling at a lion. They are pro's, we are not.

If the police are making a felony stop it will be at gunpoint. They may back it off to tazer if the suspect is more or less cooperative, but you have to remember, even to this day not all agencies even carry tazers.

The above assumption is false. Law enforcement officers in the united states would not rely on the less-than-lethal options they are equipped with, but would instead go right to their firearms for a potentially lethal use of force.

You have a Hollywood created conception of criminals where they are intelligent good looking muscle men. Most if not all are pathetic little losers looking for an easy victim to rob so they can go by some drugs.

I agree if someone just wants your wallet give it to them even if you are armrd but what if they want more than that? Wouldn't you like the option to fight back with a weapon of your own?

What more do you suspect they’ll want?

That is not a violent crime.

You do realize that with the right paperwork, background checks, and a shitload of money, it's legal to own a Sherman tank, right? Hell, if I was Bill Gates rich I'd have my own M1A2 tank. Sadly, for me, that will never happen.

47 pages in and you've managed to convince no one.

Some crackhead out of his mind might think you need to die for some reason only he knows.

I don’t go into any of these threads thinking I’m going to convince anyone to let go of their deeply held beliefs. It’s usually just fun to argue.

That last one was a jokey joke, by the way.

I don’t tend to venture into parts of town where crackheads roam.

Welp, we’re all going to die one day. I don’t make it a habit of worrying about or planning for things that are unlikely to occur.

Do you not wear a seat belt in a car, a helmet in a motorcycle, have a fire extinguisher in your home?

I of course plan for likely events. I’m not a fool Accidents and home fires are far more likely events than being accosted on the street.

Plus no one ever killed someone cleaning their seatbelt, helmet, or fire exstinguisher.

If you feel your chances of being accosted by a criminal in the street or elsewhere such as a home invasion or mass shooting in a building are so negligible as to warrant no precaution that's your call and I won't try to force you to carry a weapon and all I ask is you respect my opinion that the threat is more than negligible and respect my decision to be armed.

Of course they are. That still has nothing to do with your response.

So you honestly think criminals are professionals. Not much for me to say after you admit that except I disagree and have a nice day.:)

Sure, I’ve respected that right throughout the whole thread I believe. My only goal here was to condemn irresponsible uses of firearms. Knowing when a crime deserves an armed response is a big deal to me. The whole self defense when being robbed comes down to a personal decision. I just trust the stats that say it’s unwise.

Just to play the semantics game; a person who is payed for their efforts would be considered a professional. If they’ve ever gotten a payout from their crimes it could be argued they are professionals.

    But again, that’s just semantics.
