    Lol.

I can always count on you Cybred to move the goal posts.

" You should, neither should you put onerous stipulation for people to except use their free right."

I ask again. But we should have requirements for registration for gun owners? Rights? Wait. What?

Rights are not identical to each other.

I don’t have any idea how old you are but I’m 39 and I have heard the call for voter ID as long as I can remember.
As for the real reason… I support it for the reason to ensure Americans are voting. There are too many illegals in the country. There is a total of 11 million illegals in the states. An estimated 2.7 million just in California. These are in 2018 so there are likely to be a lot more.

In California last election joe Biden got 11 million votes while trump got 6 million. That 2 million immigrants wouldn’t have effected that vote but possibly house and local votes.

Why administered by the feds when the states are the ones passing the laws and in charge of their own elections?

Nice typical Cybred content-free retort. Guess you just don't have an argument.

That's you, you can't kill with a ballot.

I just showed you that you can, and you have no argument against it, obviously. We can add more consequences of bad votes to the list (hey, I voted for Bush that sent kids to die in Iraq - fool me once but not again).
A vote can kill more people than a single handgun can.

Sorry, but a piece of paper doesn't kill, unless it gives you a poison paper cut.

Sure they do. They just have others do their dirty work. Again, no logical rebuttal from you. If a vote were really nothing more than a piece of paper, with no further significance to it, then you might have a real argument on your hands. But a vote is more than that, isn't it? It is.

A vote doesn't affect policy? Okay. We spend hundreds of billions of dollars every election season so people can make little sheets of paper? Are elections an arts and crafts class?

Because a national ID is a federal matter. You want a national voter ID requirement? It's going to require a national ID.

Who said anything about a national ID? States can pass voter ID laws themselves. Especially since the Constitution leaves the manner of elections up to the states, and especially Presidential elections.

    Backpedal from where?

Maybe you should re-read the thread. Who said anything about national voter ID laws? Wasn't me.

That's an estiminate of unauthorized immigrants living in America. That has nothing to do with 'illegals voting'. This is specious reasoning.
    Ridiculous.

As long as you remember, well, since voter ID has only been a thing for 20-25 years, that would, indeed, be as long as someone as young as you might remember, no doubt.

But my memory goes back to the days of toddlers wearing kneepants, in the 50s. I'm 70. Voter ID wasn't a thing until very recently, in the annals of history and the vote.

MOreover, there is NO evidence that illegals vote hardly at all, especially when they know it could lead to their deportation, they simply are not going to take the chance for mere gain of one vote adding to the count of over one hundred million -- they are going to risk deportation? The whole idea of illegals voting is hysterics, and never been proven. Never. It doesn't even make sense, when you consider the reality of it, when you think it through to it's logical conclusion.
