We make all kinds of exceptions for following the public laws to allow for freedom of religion, like the Amish don't have to send their kids to public schools. The Quakers don't have to wield a weapon if they are drafted into the military. Scientologists can opt out of standard medical treatment like blood transfusions. Christian innkeepers do not have to rent out rooms to unmarried couples. Following the law is not some magic wand you can wave to prevent people from having and practicing beliefs you don't agree with.

so your logic is that unless you say you are not a religion then you are a religion. Back to your old binary thinking again!

I see...so you think we should make another exception to discriminate against gay folk? Where does this stop and the separation clause kick in?

If I as an Atheist refuse to serve Christians on Atheist grounds, is that Okay?

Silly logic since we know how many innocents suposed Christians killed in Vietnam and The Iraq war not to mention the US civil war.
Killing seems to be a human behavior that the imaginary sky fairy built into the species.

    Absolutely!
But any atheist with that belief is a hypocrite since atheists demand not to be subjected to the religions of others and do not give others the right not to be subject to atheists religions.

Discrimination, any law can only go as far and is only valid where it does not infringe on someone religion except in cases of extreme exigency, like its freezing and you own the only hotel on the planet.

Their religion discriminates against gay folk, they have that right like it or not, just like you have the right to discriminate against their religions.

You discriminated against their religion when you chose atheism in stead of christian ffs!

I discriminated against both of you when I chose agnostic.

Discrimination is inseparable from making choices, its just another in a long line of catch all gubmint inflicted 'buzzwords'. Job security.

You mean our supposedly Christian nation didn' kill hundreds of thousand of civilians between the Vietnam and Iraq war. Or that supposed Christians killed their fellow Americans during the Civil War.

Are you really tryning to pretend that only athiests kill other people or are you just wanting to compare quantities?

So you have totally abandoned your previous binary thinking and now believe that there is a third alternative between being religious and being not religious?

And no I don't have the right to discriminate against the religious when renting or baking a cake or in any other area. Probably can't even discriminate against divorced people or people who practice sex outside of marriage or who practice birth control or any other supposed sins.

Your constant misrepresentations have nothing to do with my position.
Since you believe you have no religion you have no religious rights what so ever, therefore you have no right to stay home if christains make a law that says you have to participate in their services.

And what is your new position. Your old one was binary. You used to claim that that you could only be be religious or " not religious" or that you either believed in god or " not god" . Are you now embracing " don't know" and/or " don't care"

Are you now abandoning your previous claims that you have to prove god doesn't exist in order to believe in " no god"

Since you're willing to agree to disagree, let me expand your mind a little. We all discriminate and it's perfectly legal and acceptable. What's that, you say? You don't discriminate? You never would? False. Do you kiss your neighbor's wife in the morning? Do you dress the neighbor's kids to get them ready for school? Do you call up your neighbor's friends and suggest that you get together for beer and football? No? Then you are discriminating. All discrimination means is making a choice. When you pick Jif over Skippy in the store, you are discriminating between peanut butter. When you pick one house over another, you are discriminating among houses, neighborhoods, cities, and states. When you pick one woman to marry over all others, you are discriminating among women. When you pick some friends over others, you are discriminating among people. And all these examples of discrimination are perfectly legal and acceptable. Now can any of these choices or examples of discrimination hurt or damage other people? Hell, yes! Someone can be very hurt that you didn't choose him as a friend. Someone can be heartbroken that you didn't choose her to be your spouse. Someone can become clinically depressed over not getting a particular job s/he wanted. So the idea that your beliefs or behaviors don't hurt, damage, or discriminate is quite false.

You are confusing the two definitions of discrimination:

    dis·crim·i·na·tion
    /dəˌskriməˈnāSH(ə)n/
    noun
    1. 1.
the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.
      "victims of racial discrimination"
synonyms: prejudice, bias, bigotry, intolerance, narrow-mindedness, unfairness, inequity, favoritism, one-sidedness, partisanship; More

    2. 2.
recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another.
      "discrimination between right and wrong"

Take a look at the 1st Amendment and tell me where you see the separation clause.

Legally speaking, yes, you have the right to refuse service on any or no grounds whatsoever. However, religion is a protected class, so if someone you discriminated against could show that you discriminated against him/her based on his/her religion, s/he could sue you and collect damages. Interestingly, Muslims could legally refuse to serve Christians and Jews based on religious objections. But since atheists don't have a religious book telling them not to interact with Christians, you'd be out of luck.

I'm saying they are the same thing. Whatever the basis for discrimination is, it's still discrimination.

race, age, sex, religion is not in the list.

    2.
recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another.
    "discrimination between right and wrong"

not to mention making **** up again by throwing away part 2 of the definition

    prej·u·di·cial
    adjective: prejudicial

harmful to someone or something; detrimental.

No harm is involved by not getting your cake that you can buy on the next block

    un·just

adjective: unjust; comparative adjective: unjuster; superlative adjective: unjustest

not based on or behaving according to what is morally right and fair.

There is nothing immoral about net selling a cake that can be purchased next door.

As usual a whole lot of drama over failure to comprehend the meanings of words.

please try a little harder not to make **** up.

the definition of atheism is lack of belief in a god or gods. The definition of atheism precludes it from being a religion.

It seems there are a few people who for whatever reason confuse religious discrimination with being disliked. They project a persona of unpleasantry and ignorance and believe the negative reactions they receive are due to their religious stance instead of who they actually are. It almost seems to be the Christian Persecution Complex but lacks the mental depth.

and well all had a good laugh when you were unable to support that fantasy

afaIk its against the christian religion to support anything that violates the laws set forth by their God.

Just like its against your atheist religion to support anything that supports a God.

Seems like an amicable way to fly yo me, why are you so unhappy about it?

As I said to the jester:

Since you believe you (atheists) believe you have no religion you have no religious rights what so ever, therefore you have no right to stay home if christains make a law that says you have to participate in their services.

but you of course know it isn't a fantasy, as you have been given the definition numerous times, and shown quite clearly how and why it is precluded from being a religion.
