Real old-fashioned fascist parties like the BNP have been discredited completely but the new kind of right-wing parties have emerged in Europe and some of them cannot be classified as fascist or racist. UKIP is an anti-immigration party, promoting the UK's independence from the EU, but it has kept a certain distance from racialist policies, which led to the party's poll success. Marie Le Pen, president of the Front National party in France, recently denied that her party felt an affinity with the British National Party and she claimed that she was in regular contact with UKIP to project the FN's modernised image and most far-right parties in Western Europe began to embrace conservative ideas to be more acceptable, which made them less dangerous.

First of all I’d like to know exactly who the Guardian chattering classes define as far right.

They are just buzzing around lol. In my view there are many reasons for increasing nationalist sentiment in Europe. - The sick European immigration policy, illegal immigration, number of crimes committed by ethnic criminal groups etc.

And I suppose there is a great difference between nationalists like Breivik or this guy, >

and nationalists like Marine Le Pen.

Do you think Nationalism or Conservative-ism is a knee-jerk reaction to hard times and uncertain futures? I mean, it seems like when things begin to go wrong, or they seem like they are spiraling out of control, the general reaction always seems to be to turtle-in and drift back to the "good ole days", in a sense becoming more retrograde and passive instead of meeting the challenge of changing times with a much more forward-thinking, progressive ethic. It seems like a lack of strong ethic to run back, huddle-down, and wait for orders from anyone who gives off the best air of conviction and force. It seems like that's what is happening here.

Reactionaries are tool of the establishment and used to counter the rise of populist movements .

I can understand if this kind of movement was heading towards a good place, but I have a negative feeling about it. It feels like political opportunism, and it feels like these angry people are willing to accept anything as long as it leads to their own, personal cultural advancement or profit. It feels like European society is returning to it's broken, medieval roots of political upheaval and chaos.

The liberals over there need to let this go. They need to maintain a vigilant stance but let the right make the corrections to your society before you lose your heritage. Here in America we need to do the same. We also have a more European heritage than the invaders do and we are losing it much faster than you - thought your changes are speeding up exponentially and ours are a constant.

What do we want for our children? That is the question we should be asking.

Well then people like you can feel morally superior again. Thats what you always wanted right?

The reason why europeans are revolting is because they will be destroyed if they dont. The multicultural commie lunatics overplayed their hand and now its payback time.

Is it the loss of heritage that is the problem, or the loss of economic stability? It seems like the root of the problem is that people have no money and they haven't had the power to change that. The return to old values and the calls of nationalism just seem like extra things thrown in to polarize people because, politically, it's always effective in troubling times.

See, Third-Term, even though the official stance is a conservative re-evaluation of national business, this may be the sentiment they end up catering to because it is emotionally fueled people like this that are putting them in a position of influence. This is anger and hate. It may have a basis, but it will create more bad then it will good if it is not checked.

Actually, I'd like to ask you, I've heard people say that multiculturalism is leading to the breakdown of their country, but didn't ask any of them why and I don't know because I don't live their, but what are the things that multiculturalism has destroyed in your country? What are the ways that is has become a danger to your survival?

In my opinion they are indirectly related. How you do business, how you take care of the impoverished, what personal rights you have... all come from 2000+ years of history. Look at the changes you have seen with the EU and massive immigration and bastardization of your culture. Forced conformity for immigrants! Only legal and limited immigration!

But why is multiculturalism causing the problems, specifically?

I live in Finland where the effects are fairly minor still (mainly because we have an actual opposition). Its a few gang rapes now and then but nothing that would deter your average multiculti fanatic.

For me the horror story is sweden. That country used to be one of the best in the world but now its a violent 3rd world hellhole. Rape capital of europe, street crime, riots, terrorists attacks, all the blessings of multiculturalism. Thats what im afraid of.

I wonder how much of this is due to an unintended consequence of info tech? What happens when you give a lot of unemployed young men unlimited access to the internet? The best of them will use it to help them find work, education and careers. The worst will find each other, and where they were mostly isolated before now they are not alone. Power in numbers is a two edged sword.

People with a lot of angst and time can become a powerful media force, regardless of how much of a minority they are. Ask any newborn infant, its not your size, but how loud and often you scream.

The majority simply needs to condemn and ridicule them. I think appeasement is a lost cause here.

Any poll will tell you that a vast majority of europeans are fed up with mass immigration.

And the reason why young people get their news from the internet is because they know that the mainstream media is nothing more than leftwing propaganda.

Is there other reasons why they have become such a major issue? I've only heard of two identifying issues, and they are the economy and multiculturalism, but I thought it would be something like immigrants corrupting the government or something. Some kind of high level danger.

It would help if you got your definitions correct. Multi - Culture already existed long before Marx and the cultural revolutionaries. That's the true global culture - Japanese, Italians, French, English – all with their distinct language, history, dress, culture, idiosyncrasies, cuisine etc. This is the only real multiculturalism and diversity and this was the norm until recently.

What today goes under the name of multiculturalism is a drive towards a monoculture. A touchy feely global culture and centralization of not only politics, but all aspects of life. It may appear good on paper to some (and its middle / upper class proponents only ever get to read about it, never experience it), but the reality is that it destroys nations. Culture, tradition, language, customs etc. are the ways in which we interact with each other, know each other and define ourselves. Multiculturalism rejects this and therefore ruins social cohesion. It causes chaos and confusion and resentment, since neither party will ever give up their heritage in favour of some ill-defined, non-existent “global culture” / brotherhood of man. What is natural can never be eradicated, no matter how much propaganda you spew out. The problem is NOW coming to a head because of the sheer numbers involved, although I would say that opposition to immigration is part of a wider opposition to our corrupt elites and their globalist agenda in general.

Immigration fears are chiefly stoked by the expansion of the EU with the accession of some Eastern European countries and Western Europe is overburdened with integration costs, which gave the far-right parties some legitimacy concerning what they call mass immigration. Polish is now the second most spoken language in the UK and Western Europe is becoming more multicultural than a decade ago very rapidly, causing the rise of nationalist sentiments.

What do you mean immigrants corrupting government? High level danger? We're living through the biggest population exchange in human history. Isnt that big enough?

What outside observers dont understand is that they're looking at the total numbers. To someone living in the US a 10% muslim population may not seem like that big a deal but what they dont understand is that that 10% is at the lower end of the population pyramid. The retirement homes are still all white, but if you go outside at night in paris or london in the evening all you see is 3rd world people and if you're white then you're treated like a foreigner in your own country.
