We've known about the dismal conditions that workers endure to make products ranging from our clothes to our luxury items to our electronics for decades. The products themselves may fluctuate, but the story doesn't. It's been readily ignored by the politicians and voters on both sides.

It is pure unmitigated folly to pretend that one side has the moral high ground here.

The left side clearly has command of all the low ground here.

Well I guess two can play that game. It seems you are pushing the world to promote even more child labor and destruction of the earth by pushing those electric cars.

This is definitely the EcoLeft's dirty little secret. I wonder how many people would buy EVs if they saw the pictures of little kids breaking rocks covered in toxic dust?

Something along the lines of the Kimberley Process that's been used to track blood diamonds needs to be developed for those cobalt mines.

From high up in your tower of folly and fantasy, it probably does look that way to you, doesn't it.

The real problem is that our political leaders and associate business people all knew about this and nobody does anything until a Whistleblower brings it up. Sounds typical of human nature.

And so are you. But you fancy yourself a morally superior being. We all sustain our lifestyles through the exploitation of third world labor.

And therein lies the problem. They can't convince people they're morally superior beings when they don't care about the exploitation of the brown people they claim to care more about.

And yet I've never started a thread claiming moral superiority .... and have never claimed that that our lifestyles WERE NOT the product of
    cheap labor.

Well, then, why don't you flat out admit you are not morally superior to Republicans and you do benefit from exploitation of third world labor instead of your round about denial.

Easy to claim moral superiority when when it is not your side introducing laws reinstituting child labour

WTAF are you on about. You are claiming that the left somehow supports this, based on what?

Your post is beyond laughable. You’re embarrassing yourself with this post making something from whole cloth.

But I dont see you running over to China to stop it. Why do you support child slavery XX. Why are you allowing this to happen in China. Why haven’t you done something. By doing nothing you are complicit…..

Well then I guess you can explain Trumps “made in China” merch that he peddles ?

But dont worry, Ivanka got her trademarks in China, and I’m sure all of her stuff sold in China is made in the USA…..oh yeah, its not !

Who has the high ground again ?

Isn't this what happens when there are no workplace safety regulations?

It's also what happens with Globalization when there are no trade regulations between different countries.

There are always going to be some countries with much lower worker safety standards than other countries. And the production will tend to move there, because that's where it's cheapest to produce the things.

    or cotton...

I prefer government regulate it and protect the workers

Safety costs more, and if corps did not have consequences, we have cheaper things, but suck to be a worker

She's not the President of the DRC or the General Secretary of the CCP either, but that's irrelevant to her 'holier than thou' and 'you stole my dreams and childhood' BS.

As for your red herring, never mind that Thunberg, her handlers and admirers are advocating more demand for the cobalt little kids in the DRC are mining in the name of "saving the world"...
