Some people love to flail around and blame everything and everyone else for their failures. The sad fact is that children learn how to act from their parents by the age of 5.

No, that was his dad. I’m sure his dad is smiling in his grave knowing that HIS son has taken cheating, tax evasion, and petty dishonesty of all types to levels he never dreamed of.

TRaitor tRump has proven that work is only for the hoi-paloi jadrools that will finance your billionaire LIKE lifestyle if you can convince them they’re the victims they aren’t and everything is corrupt but you, and, ONLY you can save them.

I’m sure he’s kicking himself for spending all those years cooped up in his gold plated office fleecing contractors, bankers and schmucks willing to buy his low quality, overpriced crap of the moment; when he could just play act the perpetual victim of self created witch hunts, AND use it as cover to break any law he liked.

Pro wrestling might be one of the more honest sports. Once you see that that it is what one observer called, “a soap opera in tights,” you realize that it is all a big, scripted show.”

Make no mistake about it. Pro wrestlers, when they do it well, are athletes. They are putting on live stunt shows where there are no retakes, like there are in the movies. It takes acting and athleticism to make that believable to enough of the audience to keep the business going.

@impermanence made some great points in his OP. There is a lot of dishonesty in the world, but as human beings, God gave us brains to figure out which providers of goods and services provide the best or better value for the money.

My last occupation, before I retired was coin dealing. Anyone who has approached the hobby as a pastime or investment can tell you there are some bad actors in the business. Cleaned, altered, over priced, miss represented and counterfeit coins are on the market in large numbers. It’s easy to get taken. Coins in certification holders, called “slabs” have helped greatly, but are far from perfect.

One of the worst offenders is China. They have flooded the U.S. market with counterfeit collector coins and even copied the certification holders. The Chinese counterfeiters will make almost anything to order, and there are plenty of willing sellers here in the U.S. The auction site eBay has become a cat and mouse game with experts spotting the bad stuff and contacting eBay to get them to take it down. EBay does not police themselves well in that regard.

What’s answer to all the dishonesty? The only answer is educating yourself as much as you can, supporting the good organizations that strive to do things right, and having to honesty and courage call out wrong doing, even when it’s you “home team.”

Have you been tricked into buying something you didn’t want? Gosh…I hope you’re not that gullible. <shrug>
Moving the goal posts again I see. Haha. You need to make up your mind as to which argument you want to go with.
You seem to be easily manipulated. Sorry that seeing a batter argue about a strike call has turned you into a deceitful person. <shrug>

Some people love to play the victim in life. Sad.
I don’t remember how I learned to lie at that age I just know I did it mostly when I didn’t want to get in trouble. What I do know is I certainly didn’t learn it at that age from watching sports.

Nitpicking about human nature is like pissing into the wind.
    It’s not about others.

A teacher once gave each of her pupils a map of the world cut up into puzzle pieces and asked them to assemble the world correctly.
All the students started to work, making slow progress fitting each of the world pieces together, but after a few minutes one girl said she was done.
The teacher was very surprised and asked how she was able to do it so quickly and the girl replied it was easy- there was a drawing of a man on the back of the map pieces and when she put the man together, the world also came together.

I would not call that dishonest. She used her intelligence to find a solution that solved the puzzle. She told the teacher how she did it. How is dishonest?

Here in Florida, we have the highest property insurance rates in the U.S. A big part of it is because of the hurricanes, which are acts of God. Unfortunately another big part of it are crooked contractors who defraud the insurance companies into paying for work that has nothing to do with storm related damage. My next door neighbor got a new roof that way.

We need more people like that young girl who can figure out the crooks’ games and strive to find ways to combat them.

I don't deny any of that, however, I would venture to say at least a third of those fans do not realize that it is staged entertainment, or even give a damn that it is. They will imitate it nonetheless. They just love the violence.

I wouldn’t call it a sport. It obviously requires some athleticism and a good bit of acting. And it relies on the audience suspending any contact with reality. But it’s not a sport in any way but name only.

Are also opposed to a general tricking an opposing general in order to gain a military advantage? How about lie that has a good chance of stopping a violent act? Can remaining silent also be considered a lie?

Aah, but then you forget to mention that your modesty prevented you from admitting you're cleverer than most people. Don't be so shy, your master's usually able to overcome this prevention of his.

Besides you, there are 340M people in this country that are not all having your experience. That's great that you have great insurance and that you probably can comfortably take care of what deductibles and co-pays there are, but many people are not as fortunate as you.

Remember, health care bills are the [and have been for many years] the number one reason people declare bankruptcy in this country. I refer to people as Eistein who don't seem to think things out very well. After all, the health care crisis in this country has been a serious one since the 80's.

one major belief system in this world is that everything is a competition, and winning is ALL that matters, this is worldwide, however we have heard a former president shout about his winning, the unsaid part not shouted is EVERY subterfuge is permissible lieing, cheating, you name it all not only permissible but even expected, these were the "family values" of the very wealthy president T we just experienced, aided and abetted by the likes of his mentor lawyer Cohen...there is FALLOUT from showcasing and rewarding such behaivior....gone are the days of someone saying, its NOT winning or losing its how one plays the game MAGA has lost that for us.and replaced it with unreasonableness in defense of "liberty" is no vice (good old JBS) leaving "liberty undefined and hanging

That's fine, and I hear you. America has lots of issues to deal with. You're a doctor so you worry about medical issues.

I've spent my life in defense, so I worry more about Chinese aggression, Russian aggression, nuclear war, wasting billions in Ukraine, terrorists, using up our weapons in Ukraine, Biden's open borer, Biden's cowardice in Afghanistan, Biden arming the Taliban, and so forth. You've probably seen people die on a table.
I've seen people die too.. in ambushes, rocket attacks, etc. I think we both have the same goals when it comes down to it. We're just in different arenas.

It's not that I am unaware of the issues you brought up, but there are relatively "easy" solutions to health care problems comparatively speaking. We are obviously going through a major socio-economic transition that is going to render much of the way we do things unrecognizable to us now [globally], but solutions in health care are pretty fundamental and start first and foremost with people taking responsibility for their own health and health care, that is, nobody is going to save your sorry a$$ except yourself.

I can't even imagine the complexity of dealing with an issue like China when the reality of global power balance is essentially a zero sum game. One of the most interesting things about the U.S. population is that I believe on some level everybody understands this and at the end of the day is glad that we have the power [economic and military] we do. You certainly don't see massive protests out there concerning our nuclear stockpile or reserve currency status.

On e thing I am sure we can both agree about is the loss of individual freedom we have witnessed over the past decades. This does not bode well...

Let the draft start and you'll see protests BIG TIME. At the end of the day, anti-war protests are really about Little Johnny being taken away to war. I couldn't agree with you more that "solutions in health care are pretty fundamental and start first and foremost with people taking responsibility for their own health and health care, that is, nobody is going to save your sorry a$$ except yourself".

Although one must take full responsibility for their actions, denying that there are forces out of your control is silly. Look at how out of control almost every institution in this country is and how much of a profound effect this can have on an individual. Of course, you do what you can to overcome such, but reality suggests [for whatever the reasons] that the vast majority of having difficulty managing.

Out of control institutions are moving to a head-on clash with the IN control forces of law and order.
