with your point, no vaccine could ever be introduced. Unlike drugs, the need for vaccines do not have the luxury of time owing to mutation and virus spreading.

What they do know, as history has proven, most problems with vaccines turn up within 6 weeks, so the odds are that any vaccine that makes it past that point is going to be good to go for the long term.
