To all the Christians:

Please stop making us look so bad. Seriously all this talk about "evolution cannot exist" and "hey screw you I'm a Christian go to hell" and attacking atheists and rudely arguing with them, etc. is the exactly reason so many people hate us so much! Everything you are doing is either hypocritical to your faith, ignorant, or both. Before you post that stupid post about how evolution is a hoax, look at ACTUAL facts. Before you say something mean to an atheist for no reason, think about WHO YOU ARE. Or at least consider that person is ALSO a person, even if he is lacking a religion of his own. It is not OUR job to force religion on other people, believe it or not. People would probably be willing to respect us and our beliefs, if you were to respect others and their beliefs.

You obviously do not know what evolution is.. It’s suggesting that you, a squirrel, a dung beetle, a roach, some pond scum, bacteria, and a rose bush all have a common ancestor… It’s common descent with modification. If you want facts – here is one. Evolution is a hypothesis (that means someone’s acid flash back equivalent). Do you know why? It hasn’t passed the scientific method. Do you know what that is? Is a series of things that someone’s pipe dream has to go through to become a theory… It is a way to keep nonsense out of science – like Creationism… Evolution is common descent with modification.

Evolution did not pass the first step in this… It hasn’t been observed (only someone – Darwin “guessed” this took place) and never been tested in a lab where something became a different species and branched off from a previous one. Thus, you do not have anything that would even SUGGEST that evolution is a tangible thing…

Let me guess… you of some actual facts OUTSIDE of science and the scientific method to prove evolution huh?!?!

I am neither, and I will say this – I think you are focusing your rant on the wrong people. The Christians on here are quite nice, some a little cooky, but mostly nice as a majority. Now the Athiest!! I have no idea how some of them are still posting!! It’s like they get a free pass on personal insults. If there was a prejudice in this forum, it would be the Christians from what I have seen as the attacks (as they get called morons, retarded, idiotic, and stupid) blatantly…

I actually have more respect for most of the atheists on here. Wolverine is one of the most cool-headed, respectable, intelligent people on here. All I see the christians do on here is complain and act like they are better than everyone else.

As for the argument that there is no evolution AND you aren't religious.... well I don't even know how to discuss a topic with someone who thinks we were created and put here by aliens or something. Because that really is the only other option at this point...

 

I suggest some "Christians" should firstly begin to read the Holy Bible before they post.

1)Because the atheists don't believe there is a reason to act a certain way. If someone claims to be Christian, they should act like it.

2) Because I am a christian, so I care the way other Christians choose to act.

3) I have not had any trouble with any ridiculously rude atheists on this forum, but have seen plenty of Christians acting outrageous.

danboy9787 I give you a standing ovation. By your statement, you are one of the rare Christians that I have any respect for. Few practice what they preach. This more than anything has made me mistrustful and at times even hateful towards Christians.

I have felt drawn towards the Church many times in my life... just to be put off by the pompous arrogant judgment of the very people I turned to for inspiration and guidance.

If I were to judge Christianity by the actions of most of its disciples, I would say that Christianity is a elitist members only club that dispenses judgment upon all those whom are different from themselves.

But once in a blue moon comes along a Christian who renews my hope that not all are so ignorant. Thank you for being brave enough to stand against your own and preach tolerance and humility as well as introspection.

Again, bravo, I tip my hat to you good sir.

P.S. for any Christians who would like to understand why people like me are so mistrustful of Christianity. There is a movie made by an Evangelical Christian, this move has been shown in Churches around the Country. The maker of the move had a simple question; Why is it that a religion based on love has generated so much hate? He goes into society not to preach... but to ask a question then...LISTEN! What he hears changes his life and makes him a better man... a better Christian. The movie is not a Christian hit job, it is one Christians search for truth.

The movie is called "Lord, Save Us From Your Followers". If you watch, be prepared to be humbled. Also, I am not a Christian and found the movie very healing for me.

IMO most people do not like their hypocrisy to be pointed out to them. If they were to admit their hypocrisy it would be akin to jumping onto a live grenade causing a self inflicted wound! It is way easier to stay silent, or even point the boney finger of indignation at the other side than it is to ever admit that we are wrong. We are all guilty of this at times... perhaps me more than others.

It takes strength to stand up and humbly announce our transgressions before those that we have harmed. Many Christians preach this... most suck at practicing it.

It is possible to be religious, but not outright ignorant.

I talked to my woman friend about our religious beliefs, she has very good reasons for believing in god. Very reasonable. Very logical. None of this "this is the word of god and there is no other way" bs.

 

There is a smallish problem with that chart -- The hyskos were the Semite-lead rulers of Egypt, and therefore Joseph should have lived around that time, therefore, the flood should be about 1000 years before that, in 3400 not in 2400BC. I think a difference of 1000 years should be significant, even in the ancient world.
