Trump: I'd love shutdown if there's no immigration deal

So the truth comes out, Trump is willing to shut down the government over immigration even after he spent weeks trying to blame the Democrats for it. Obviously Trump doesn't care about the millions of Americans who would be adversely affected by this pissing contest.

US President Donald Trump has said that he would "love to see" the US government shut down if Congress does not negotiate an immigration deal.

"If we don't change it lets have a shutdown. We'll do a shutdown, and it's worth it for our country." he said.

Earlier in the day, his chief of staff said Mr Trump was unlikely to extend a deadline when legal protections for young immigrants expire.

The government briefly closed last month amid congressional gridlock.

"If we don't change the legislation, if we don't get rid of these loopholes where killers are allowed to come into our country and continue to kill... if we don't change it, let's have a shutdown," Mr Trump told a White House law enforcement panel discussing gang violence.

"I'd love to see a shutdown if we don't get this stuff taken care of."

Democrats are far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants than they are with our great Military or Safety at our dangerous Southern Border. They could have easily made a deal but decided to play Shutdown politics instead. #WeNeedMoreRepublicansIn18 in order to power through mess!

Doesn't care about a shut down? This is what folks like Bannon, the Wall Street/donor/"job creator" class, the Mercer/DeVos cabal, Grover Norquist, etc, have been yearning for. Take down what's left, albeit I agree there is very little left, of a representative government of the people in lieu turning all authority over to the aristocracy.

Once the recriminations start pouring in and Americans become upset over the idea their President will deliberately shut down government denying tens of millions of Americans the resources they need plus harming the families of our military members, will Trump backpedal faster than a circus clown and say he didn't mean it?

Other then mental institutions it would be hard to find a worst person to put into the oval office then Trump and even in mental institutions it likely that many of the inmates would be better informed and have more common sense then Trump.

I would think some of you would be more educated on the "Art of the Deal". We have been trying to educate you guys for over a year and a half now on Trump.

I really think some of you don't know a put-on when you see it or have no sense of humor. I truly believe if he offered amnesty to every illegal in this country you guys would scream "he can't do that" and bitch and moan and want him to build a wall because your hatred of Trump is against everything he does.

We all know what you guys don't want but don't have a clue to what your side wants. What was your great hope that Hillary was going to deliver for your side? She had a miserable record as a lawyer, First Lady, Congressman, Secretary of State, and Candidate. What she was good at was being a crook.

I agree with Trump that a shutdown of the government would be good for the country. If enough pain is inflicted maybe the two sides can get together and pass some meaningful legislation.

Trump doesn't vote on funding the government. Congress does. He is saying he will sit back and watch the fiasco they create. He can't do anything about it. He can make an executive order to keep it going for a short time. Why, so Congress can sit back in their wealth and ignorance and continue as they are?

They need to be removed from office.

 

Fear Trump? Other then his control of the US nuclear weapons along with him making Kim Jong almost looking sane there is little reason to fear Trump.

He is no where near as bright as Hitler or Stalin and by his childish behaviors will in one way or another will removed himself from power so as long as he is kept from the nuke button we all will be ok in the end.

Of course it will likely take decades to live down the shame of having Trump as President.

Not at all. If you can't see the brilliance of this man, then you need to pay attention, as he is giving many in this country a lesson in how things should get done. He is just like many of us who are tired of the B.S. from politicians who have put their careers ahead of the country. At least he has an agenda and he is doing everything in his power to implement it. Some of it good and some not so good. I like his style.

 

Better to shutdown government than to let illegal border crossings remain open for business.
