Trump is a bad person. Why would anybody vote for him?

Ever since Trump came down that "Golden Escalator", we've been seeing episode after episode that hinted that he was not the good guy: calling for violence against opponents, sixteen rape victims, the Access Hollywood Tape, his empowering white supremacists, gassing protesters for a photo OP holding an upside-down Bible, ... multiple scam attempts (selling meat, ties, fake university degrees, Bibles, ...)

Even though the accumulation of so many events is hard to ignore, if we are to keep an open mind, we would have to be very strict in our judgement, and maybe even admit (by twisting somewhat our imagination), that these might be either explainable, dismissible, or ... even maybe the result of some weird "conspiracy"..

However, there is ONE action that cannot be dismissed. This action alone PROVES that the man is evil. And there is no way to excuse it: torturing children. The separation of children from their families, with no intention whatsoever of ever reuniting them (some remain separated to this day) can leave NO doubt. He did it! He ADMITTED he did it! And he even said WHY he did it! He tortured children to "punish" their parents for attempting to enter the country. For seeking asylum...

Somebody who tortures children can only be described as EVIL. So he is a CERTIFIABLE bad person.

Seriously, why would you vote for him?

I'm about as anti-Trump as people come, but I get it. Would I vote for a bad person if I thought they would advance good policies (according to what I believe in) and do the job well? Yes. Even if their opponent was a relatively good person? Yes.

The better question is, why didn't they choose a better person who would work for their policies? They exist.

Is torturing children good policy? How about standing in the middle of 5th avenue and shooting a random stranger?

How could you trust a bad person even if they offered to advance good policies?

Well that's a good question, why didn't YOU choose a better person?

I appreciate your answer because I think I just got an idea that hadn't occurred to me as to maybe why somebody would vote for a bad person: bad persons would vote for a bad person.

I'm not talking about 16 rape victims (though I would say that is not good either). What part is not bad about torturing children? Of course the orange man who does that is bad!

The fact that he openly admitted it means it's pathologically bad.

lol harsh. I'm liberal, by the way. No, I was just imagining if the situation were reversed. If somebody who is objectively a "bad person" compared to most was the democratic nominee, I would vote for them because they would advance policies I believe in. That is the lesser evil. Even if the republican, promoting bad policies, were a saint. Their saintliness isn't the point. The policies are.

Why didn't I choose a better person? I think Biden is okay. I didn't notice a clearly better person try to run this time. Perhaps one issue is few good people are willing to run.

I think a lot of people are Trump purely because he’s just a reflection of themselves and nothing more.

Yes of course..... We should always insult people who have different political opinions. Oh wait a second.... Isn't that like something you think Trump would do?

And yet we were better off under Trump than Biden on just about every important issue.

Unlike the left, we on the right vote by using logic along with the policies of the candidates. The left votes on emotion, they admitted as much when they say they voted for Biden because they hated Trump.

    First, Trump didn't "torture children".
Before Trump Obama separated children from families.
After Trump Biden separated children from families.
You either have swallowed the propaganda fed by the media about this topic and failed to do your own research on it, or you are repeating propaganda you know to be exaggerated, false, and incorrect.

Either way, your rant is recognized as a rant and dismissed.

I think most people in general vote by emotion. I don't. If it were based upon logic, liberal policies would be favored.

Hating Trump isn't just about him being personally distasteful. He's anathema to liberal policies and goals. He's a nativist climate change denier who gives tax cuts to the rich. With the help of Mitch, he filled courts with conservatives. What felt emotional was the right's reaction to Obama. The guy was a moderate who loved to compromise, and yet they acted like he was the devil himself.

Trump is the only Republican, possibly the last Republican in my lifetime, that can fight back. There are other Republicans, true, but none that won't fold up like cheap lawn chair when the Left wing media starts ripping them apart.

The fact that the Leftists want to play dirty, brought us to where we are.

Well, IMO.... the lesser of two evils cannot be a certifiable bad person. There is no way we can trust a bad person.

I'm not referring to a better person. This is the case of a bad person. I can see myself voting for the lesser of two evils if two bad persons were running. But how could one trust a bad person, even if you agreed with the policies they promise. Trump promises their voters everything he can think of. He will accomplish none of them precisely because he is a bad person.

I guess that runs true for the left and their daddy.. Pay no mind to Bidens shower dates with his daughter, baby sniffing and Fondling every lil girl he gets close too, and, well I'll just end it there ;)

Thing is - he is not even advancing good policies. His “better health care” never materialised. His “executive orders” got overturned by judges. His wall never got built and he even pardoned the guy who defrauded those willing to pay to build it themselves

Every damn bit of it and you damn well know it. But don't let that stop you..... You rarely allow facts to get in the way of the narrative
