I dont use any of those. I made an 'X' account when Musk bought it, but it failed to draw me in to using it, and I deleted my FB years ago because it was more toxic than useful. I mostly search with bing, and it probably sells my data too. Pretty much everyone knows our data is being sold, and we keep using the things that we know collects it. There's ways to avoid it, but most people don't care enough to trouble themselves to use it. If it wasn't consensual before, it pretty much is now.

Tictok is banned from secure govt devices and secure govt facilities and has been for some time. I don't think it poses a 'national security' threat in any objective sense. You could argue that the social deviancy pushed by its algorythms and mental illness associated with social media in general poses some existencial threat to national security, but not without also including many other platforms, and probably not without asserting some very dangerous enforcement-of-morality precedents that I'm sure neither of us want our govt to have.

Tictok is a problem, but its not one we're going to solve via govt enforcement. If Trump can find a workaround just by talking to folks, that would be ideal. I'm not saying I think he will... but I'm certainly willing to give it a shot. He isn't gonna make tictok any more of threat by trying.

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But considering how many millions of Americans use it, banning it isn't the answer and the attempt to do so is not in good faith by the government in the cyberspace community.

I still remember that this administration tried to give us a modern ministry of propaganda in Biden's first term, imagine when he's not accountable to the voters

So he has to prove a negative?

How would you suggest that Trump prove he wasnt given, say, a briefcase full of money under a park bench somewhere?

That would be nice. I think the govt needs to stop buying our data to avoid having to get a warrant for it. Forgive me if I don't hold much faith that we can give the govt the power to protect us from foreign govt data collection and it wont use that power against us later.

Oh I don’t think it was anything that sketchy. Politicians change positions based on donors or votes all the time. Does get more questionable when that politicians is using donor money for his persona legal bills though.

Trump's legal bills are hardly personal. He is the target of lawfare designed to hinder his bid for the 2024 election. The lawfare makes legal bills a cost of his campaign.

I understand there is no such thing as a Trump supporter who "responds" to my posts while actually reading them, but I never said any of the above. But points for how desperate you were to ignore what I said. That kind of "I shhee nuffing" power was once reserved for Hogan's Heroes.

We'll take your word for it that you went against the democrat battle cries of tariffs on china...Desperate, as usual you've got quiet a knack for reading into things lol. Typical left though china tariffs bad, tariff not bad, trump sucking up to china.

I thought the tariffs were bad as well . . . because anyone vaguely okay with capitalism (and the Trump movement is the most anti-capitalist "right wing" movement I've seen in decades) understands that tariffs are bad, but you weren't telling the truth about the severity I spoke of at the time. China putting tariffs on us is bad for China and for us. Us putting tariffs on China is bad for us and bad for China. Congrats. Welcome to Econ 101. But you are still running away and hiding from what I ACTUALLY brought up, because you can't address it: the TPP. We were set up to be able to compete even better against China, but Chinese businessmen were literally cheering in their offices when Trump went against the TPP, hobbling our country's chances at better competition. And that is, of course, not even close to the only favor Trump did for China.

This just shows Trump is a regular politician who accepts money.favors from lobbyists on behalf of communist owned companies despite his supporters painting him as not part of the DC swamp.

There really isn't anyway to stop the data collection. One could possibly use a VPN, but even then, one would need their own security certificates to ensure no exposure. And even that, whatever you send or receive can be collected.

lol sure go with that. I fully support him wasting campaign money on lawyers. Not sure why anyone who wants him to win would, but that’s not my problem. Every dollar he wastes on lawyers is one not spent on the election.

Remember in 2016 when so many Republicans said they liked him because he was self funded? Now he won’t even self fund his own legal problems lol.
