I remember when you guys impeached Trump for a quid pro quo for investigating Biden's quid pro-quo.
Now you act like a banana Republic and blame Trump for making you do it.

Rapists use a similar tactic saying that the victim asked them for it when she dressed so provokingly.

Trump ran a business and hurt no one. You acting like a banana republic is on you, not him.

What's even better is they are actually ensuring Trump gets elected. Nobody that's not a partisan hack, can't see these NY elected officials are doing anything to fulfill their political promise of getting Trump, and America loves underdogs. They literally are claiming criminality from a civil suit that will be overturned. lol

Who was harmed?? Nobody. Where is the crime?? There is none. The trial was the result of a campaign promise to “Get Trump”. This is the stuff that Putin, Xi, Maduro, and the funny little guy from North Korea do. Now add the Justice system of New York State to the list.

The evidence showed that he obtained approx $176 million by dishonestly inflating the value of his properties, thus gaining better interest rates on his loans.

    That’s fraud…

What crime? Who was harmed? Who lost money? None, no one, no one.

Correction - the Justice system of the State of New York will forever be a laughing stock.

The banks stated that they would have made the loans for the same rates regardless of the valuation which were at the high end of the range. The properties were used as collateral. The banks are not complaining. The only fraud here is the claim of legal and judicial impartiality by the state of New York.

The prosecutor was elected based on a get Trump platform. She manufactured a “case” in which nobody was harmed and nobody claimed to be harmed. This is a black mark against the Statif New York. No wonder people are leaving heading to Florida.

Criminal politicians, especially those with cult followings, routinely evade justice in banana republics.

Despite the anti-American assaults on our justice system, no one is above the law,

    Please show your evidence counsellor…

“Those numbers helped Trump secure bigger loans and lower interest rates, said Haigh, who headed the risk group for the bank’s private wealth management unit from 2008 to 2018.”
“former Deutsche Bank risk management officer Nicholas Haigh testified.”

The Justice system of the State of New York is an attack on the concept of equal Justice for all.

So you're not denying that Trump manipulated, sometimes up to three times the value or size of properties. And I assume by omission you're not saying that this is not fraudulent.

I invite you to look at it another way - how amazing it is that Trump got off so lightly. From another poster:

there's no actual penalty here - he just has to pay back the money he obtained through fraud and his kids (meaning him too) must wait for 2 years to commit fraud in this manner again. He's supposed to wait another year, but he'll just do it through them. Contrast this with a federal employee who charged about $6,000 to his federal credit card for personal gain, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

I also have a question for you. If you don't like the outcome - what you think should have happened in the face of the overwhelming evidence. Concrete numbers and figures, not opinions or fabrications...Just let Trump off?

No, unfortunately , you are living in la la land-- Traitor Trump will be crushed financially and he will be incarcerated behind bars , where this incessant liar and Putin puppet deserves to be. Leticia, Smith, Willis et al are national heroes.

Which banks who lent the money are complaining?

Deutsche Bank assumed from its own analysis of Trump’s properties that his net worth was billions lower than what his statements said. No representatives of the bank testified that they would have priced the loans any differently. Bank employees testified that they longed for his business.

Trump is first person in America to be sued for a loan that was paid back in full with interest. This is cartoonish levels of villainy from the Democrats. Why don't you just murder him, Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk and get it over with?

The government valuates my hunting land at $3500 an acre for tax purposes. I have been trying to sell it for $3000 an acre for over two years now. When do I get to sue the government for millions of dollars because they obviously overvalued my land?

Valuations are always ball park and can be WILDLY off. There is no "correct" value, there are only opinions on what the value is. If you are a bank, it is your responsibility to determine the value of the property, not the borrower. This lawsuit makes no sense out of the scope of a political witch hunt. Corruption this brazen can and often does lead to political violence.

The left are the most gullible people on the planet.
No bank makes millions of dollars of loans without their own due diligence. They don't take anyone's word for property values.
Or did you think you could walk into a bank and declare what your property is worth to get a better rate?
    I bet you did. lol

And this bias judge and DA will have their idiotic claims overturned. Since they have no damages and no victims, and no bank claiming to be defrauded, where did they get this ridiculous number from? Oh yeah, they just pulled it out of the air.

No judge has the right to asses that kind of penalty when they have no victim being defrauded and no amount of damages.
But the idiotic left slurps up these things because of the orange man bad propaganda never realizing if this stands,
then you just became the victim of your own political stunt.

I'm not convinced ... yet. I believe fully he should be thrown into the deepest most remote part of "Super Max" to live out the rest of his miserable life. That probably will never happen. But that he should meet some form of justice for justice sake should be a requirement of a self validating justice system.

IF we allow him to get off Scott free by manipulating our legal system then justice has failed all American's. Will justice recover, yes, but if he prevails in his attempts then it will be a cloud over all of U.S. for a long, long time. :(

Interesting that you evoke the 8th amendment. You don't deny Trump committed fraud, it's just that you don't like the penalty.

This is a good start for The Flock.

Now for the reassuring part. The penalty matches the amount of money that he defrauded. No prison sentence and he can begin frauding again in three years, less for his sons.

    A very light ruling.

Poor Trumpy, how will he ever survive?

    In yesterday's news.

SEC clears Trump's social media deal worth as much as $10 billion

(Reuters) - The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission allowed Donald Trump's media and technology company to merge with a blank-check acquisition vehicle in a deal that currently values the parent of his social media app Truth Social at as much as $10 billion.

Digital World shares rose 16% to $50.49 in afternoon trading in New York on Thursday. At this stock price, and assuming no Digital World shareholders exercised the right to redeem their shares, the combined company would be worth about $10 billion and Trump would own a 58.1% stake worth about $4 billion.
