Mr. Trump has stated many things. Many of which aren't true. So we have kind of stopped believing him.
Also heard he was going to hire this guy to build it.

I could be wrong, but I think there is some money in the original proposal for border improvements, but it specifically excludes a border "wall". So they are trying to make the wall into a fence so Trump can claim victory.
    Edit:
A big beautiful fence. Has a ring to it. :)

Actually he was touting a big beautiful concrete barrier from sea to sea paid for by Mexico. I don't think even Trump knows what he is thinking ( and I use the term loosly) at this point.

It could be a bunch of poles with smiley faces on top and Progressives would still find a way to call the wall racist or god knows what else

We get it, you guys don’t want to stop illegals coming into the country

It could be that. Or it could be concrete. Or it could be made of straw. Nobody knows. We already spent $50 million on prototypes that were done to spec. Now those specs and prototypes are being thrown out. We gave $1.4 billion for the wall last year and most of the money went unspent and what was used was for replacement fencing.

There are no plans, specs, or even a good concept drawing. Yet you want to give Trump $5 billion for it after we gave him $1.4 billion and he has nothing to show for it.

The emperor has no clothes. Can't you admit that is what you see?

So prove it, they are listing Government records.

Prove what? That building the wall isn't going to get rid of the illegal aliens already here so the numbers are totally bogus. That should be obvious to almost anyone!

What you said to begin with. Are those goalpost heavy. You said the math on the amount Illegals cost is not factual. That is compiled from Government records. No wonder you attempted to move the goalposts.

My only concern with steel slats as opposed to a concret wall is how thick would the steel slats be. Can they be cut with a hack saw? If they can it would be almost useless. One cut and they could squeeze through.

I'm surprised the orange orangutan didn't display it with a blood y head impaled in the spikes.

There's a way to solve that. Make the slats of hardened steel but with the inside being hollow. Then you drop into the hollow cavity a round rod made of the same steel. If someone cuts through the out layer, when they hit the inner rod it will spin and be nearly impossible to cut through with a hack saw.

I don't know how thick you imagine the rod would be, but at 50' in length it would be very heavy to the point it likely wouldn't spin. Not to mention a torch would cut through the whole thing.

More likely a try mounted torch setup could be used to cut through slats. Then you’d have to dig out whatever was buried to put in a new one. It’ll be a mess.

So it looks like we're back to needing a concrete wall.

That is good to know. Is that how the fencing is currently in El Paso and New Mexico. You had mentioned fencing like this already exist.

If that is true, it is really sad. Essentially in a few post on a forum we, who know nothing about walls, are able to see critical flaws in the steel slat design and the president who has the resources of the federal government seems to have overlooked it. Didn't they have a meeting where someone asked the the same question we did, what if they had a hack saw or cutting torch, and wouldn't it be expensive and time consuming to dig up and replace breached slats? Could you imagine if we spent 10-20 billion on the boarder fencing and a $5 hack saw can defeat it?

Lol...This is trump's kakistocracy we're talking about here. It's a country currently being run by the narcissistic brain farts of a mafia wannabe. It's only going to get worse.

Yes, both sides spend like a thief with a stolen credit card. Our taxes are among the highest, and even Brown admits his party spends too much. The surplus was not the result of responsible spending and will not lead to lower taxes. Here in CA, the middle has been squeezed out so we have mostly rich and poor.

Border security will help cut spending.
