    So what, the speech was not just about the protest to follow.

    How much was about engaging in violence and a riot and no in our political discourse telling your supporters to "fight like hell" for their causes is NOT a call to violence it is a common phrase.

    There was nothing peaceful about a gang of thugs, criminals, and other dregs of our society repeating the delusions of Wannabe Dictator Benito Trump that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

    Typical political rhetoric. The violence at the Capitol began BEFORE the rally was over. People didn't leave the rally and go and start the violence.

    The violence started early because the Secret Service wouldn't let the armed insurrectionists in to the "rally". The violence escalated after the "rally" finished.

    Only saboteurs at the Capital building were breaking things and vandalizing stuff.

    If anyone broke anything, stole anything, or anything else along those lines, I hope they are caught and punished.

    I agree some just protested, but those insurrectionists, were hard core Trump supporters, egged on by Trump, over clearly stated false premises, as were the ones that were peacefully protesting.

    Now that is the most disingenuous of all the right wing disingenuous arguments. In four hours of speaches calling for combat and violence there was less than 4 seconds of "peacefully".

    Because to the tens of thousands of true Trump supporters present it was always supposed to be a peaceful rally/protest.

    Trump's appeal to stay peaceful was directed at other elements within the capital building.

    The people at the Capitol who started the violence were not at the rally, that was a separate group. Those were the radicals who came for the purpose of causing a disrupt, perhaps as they had witnessed the leftiest doing for TWO YEARS in order to get their political demands. The people at the rally left peacefully while the riot had already begun at the Capitol.

    So, you're ok with some ignoring subpoenas by congress but not others, purely based on political belief? I think this is becoming an issue the left is supporting more and more. Personally, if it's against the law convict regardless of the who.
