Legal experts analyzed what they called "breathtaking" civil penalties against former President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, former Trump Organization Comptroller Jeffrey McConney and ex-CFO Allen Weisselberg – warning other corporations based in the Empire State may realize they could suddenly be put out of business by the state on a political whim...

    Video
…In that regard, former Bush White House press secretary Ari Fleischer told Fox News the ban may spur Trump to relocate his entire business empire to Florida, just as he has his primary residence.

"If you're Eric [or] Donald Junior, what are you going to do?" he asked.

"[Y]ou just say goodbye to New York, which fits a pattern that many successful people have been doing and leaving New York because New York is just too political, too blue and too punitive – you're seeing that in the business community and among upper income New Yorkers already," he said – adding the state's crime wave accentuates the issue.

George Washington University Law Prof. Jonathan Turley further commented to Fox News that Engoron appeared to compound the highest fine figures in most of the areas adjudicated – noting that New York's civil law in this area is unique because the proverbial crime can essentially be victimless…

…"It's one of the greatest ironies of this case: In the name of protecting businesses in New York, you probably just led to hundreds of businesses looking at potential rentals in Florida because they look and they go, ‘wow, if we fall on the wrong side of the politics in New York, they could sell us off for spare parts’."

Fleischer noted that New York's justice system has descended into a quasi-political entity, in that liberals and Democrats have been placed at the highest levers of power for the past few decades…

This Fox News reporters account about potential ramifications of todays ruling is interesting. The state AG and the judge may well have actually harmed their state. It is very possible that this ruling will hasten the exodus of business headquarters and even entire businesses from New York to Florida or some other freer state.

lol…who cares? Let trump flee to desantis’ theocratic shithole to evade his crimes. Only rich crybabies like trump and musk pitch fits and run away when caught with their hands in the cookie jar.
What’s certain is that maga will be ponying up donations for years to pay for trump's bankruptcy.
    Best save up your pennies.

It truly is the actions of a banana republic. Its unfortunate the left has gone this far down the irrational fascist path.

That being said, Trump has plenty of money. This ultimately doesn't do much to him. He will be fine.

Imagine thinking he is Bankrupt lmao. Talk about the epitome of propaganda lmao.

Trump haters don't care about ramifications. That should have been obvious when they tried to evoke Amendment 14 sec 3 based on one persons opinion.

He doesn't actually need that money to pay this, but no doubt Americans have his back against the fascist left attacking him
NY is already on the downward spiral lol, and now they will continue to get weaker and weaker.

saying criminals will leave if you enforce that law.... lol

I do not even think Trump will leave, depends how much of his property was quick deeded to him from his father, as that is a lot of taxes he would owe if so

most people leave property in wills, because it's no benefit to quick deed, but for the filthy rich, it can make sense to quick deed if you do not plan to sell the property in your lifetime

    https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/estate-tax

so will Trump sell all his property in NY if he can help it, I doubt it

It’s part of maga’s denial routine.
Back then, he was just a snivelling sleaze ball absorbing his daddy’s racist real estate policies and mafia tactics.

My god there's some wishful thinking in the OP. If there is a business that leaves New York because of this, you know right then that business is not operating ethically.

But for Trump supporters, morals and ethics and laws are for everyone else, not the Trumps.

I doubt that a lot of smart people are itching to move to a "freer" state, where women have to worry about being forced to carry their rapist's baby, or where their kids become target of the anti-LGBQT agenda, should they DARE to express that they are non-straight, or where business can be on the chopping block if MAGA thinks they are too woke and speak up against the governor who thinks he is king. There is a lot more to "freedom" than paying the least amount of taxes. Of course, MAGA will never understand this.

But, yes, people who want to commit white collar crime might actually be better off in a state where laws are not enforced for the sake of "business".

I guess Saudi Arabia could bail him out with a multi-billion dollar bribe and make the tax penalty worth it

lol no it means that businesses aren't going to value their property at tax assessed rates as NY claims Trump has to do.

Engoron essentially said that your business'/land's value is predicated not upon what someone will pay for it but what the government determines the tax value is

Good ****ing luck keeping businesses in NY lol

Not that it's going to matter. It's gonna get slapped down on appeal

And not just businesses I assume that must be true for private residences as well. So in other words if the market value for your home is worth $1,000,000 in NYC but the government determines its taxable value is only $300,000, if you attempt to represent your property is worth $1,000,000 for say a second mortgage on your home, you're gonna get sued for falsifying the value of your home.

Furthermore I'm fairly certain NY has anti-price gouging laws. Which means if you sell a property at >10% more of its value (which is again now not determined by market value but by tax value) you can be sued for price gouging.

Good ****ing luck keeping anybody who owns a house or business there lol

NY will be absolutely fine. LOL

Just in time for Florida's revised child labor laws that allow 16 and 17 year olds to work more than 8 hours a day on school nights and 40 hours a week while attending school. This has been passed by the Florida House and is waiting on a Senate vote.
