I blame Rush Limbaugh. He turned dark humor into "news reporting" and got rich doing it.

The day before Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation trial against Fox News was set to begin in a Delaware courthouse, the Fox board of directors and top executives made a startling discovery that helped lead to the breaking point between the network and Tucker Carlson, one of its top stars.

Private messages sent by Mr. Carlson that had been redacted in legal filings showed him making highly offensive and crude remarks that went beyond the inflammatory, often racist comments of his prime-time show and anything disclosed in the lead-up to the trial.

Despite the fact that Fox’s trial lawyers had these messages for months, the board and some senior executives were now learning about their details for the first time, setting off a crisis at the highest level of the company, according to two people with knowledge of the discussions.

The discovery added pressure on the Fox leadership as it sought to find a way to avoid a trial where Mr. Carlson — not to mention so many others at the network — would be questioned about the contents of the private messages they exchanged in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

His audience loved his bigotry just as they love Trump's.

I heard they lost almost a billion dollars due to settling a lawsuit that heavily involved the lies he was propagating on the network.

He's more liked than we thought. 3 of my democrat friends just switched sides after hearing Tucker's brave and encouraging words in the recent video he made. Thank you Tucker. You are still making a positive difference!

He's right. All the petty little debates are a distraction from the MUCH bigger issues that face the country.

No, just the stuff that people who have watched him and think critically can easily see. I'm sorry the facts are inconvenient for you.

Whatever you say now, yardmeat. Your goal post shift :above: is noted from what you originally opined below.

Why do you think your version of the facts is the end all? Laughs.

Why do you think that reality is subjective and that there is no reality beyond opinion?

Why do you always assume the worst about those who don't buy or are hesitant to accept what you're selling? You did shift the goal post when I refuted your first point by showing you the facts. You do that often enough too.

Did I write that? I wrote that your opinions, aka "version of the facts," are not the end all. About that not reading thing.

Nope. I've repeatedly complemented people I don't agree with.

Hint: try reading what you claimed about me. When did I say that my opinion is the end all?

About that whole not reading thing . . .

I snipped down to a very important part of the OP-ed ---what Fox will need to do to recover from the loss of Tucker Carlson. This will be a daunting task for Fox. Obviously, they've got big shoes to fill.

Shocking News From Fox Corp (FOXA) Sparks Unusual Stock Options Volume (msn.com)

The Next Steps Will be Critical

For FOXA stock, the underlying leadership team’s next steps will be crucial to establishing a pathway of success post-Tucker Carlson. First and foremost, Fox News must elect a viable successor, someone that will support old school conservative principles but also bolster populist ideals that made Carlson so attractive across a wide demographic. Otherwise, a meat-and-potatoes Republican might not resonate with the new-guard conservative movement.

As well, the prime-time slot must be filled with a host that tacitly has the approval of former President Donald J. Trump. Though anything can happen between now and when the 2024 presidential campaign begins in earnest, Trump commands significant if not unprecedented influence and power over the GOP.

Of course, it’s the connection with the former Commander-in-Chief’s most controversial stances that got Fox into the predicament it finds itself in. However, not aligning with Trump may lead to an even worse situation: hardly attracting any viewers. Almost certainly, there will be tough days ahead for management to navigate.

I don’t want hear any more from you about “authoritarian regimes.” When you have cancel culture, demands for “proper pronoun use,” an out of control FBI and Department of Justice, and an imperial presidency that would make Richard Nixon jealous, you have a lot of soul searching to do on your side. Your side has zero respect for the art of compromise. It’s either you way or the heal of the boot for all of the states in the union regardless of how their values might differ from your values.

When your FBI agents are standing outside of the residence of a former president with guns drawn, you look like a bunch of Nazis. That was not necessary, especially since Trump was not even home. If the Trump administration had done it, you would have been screaming bloody murder. It looked really bad when Joe Biden was also caught with top secret documents.

Yeah, it's true. Percentage wise, it's not that much. One of them is only 7%. No decision making power.

So Trump must come back to dissolve the FBI, DOJ, fire all judges appointed by Democrat POTUS and institute martial law... as he wanted to do after the 2020 elections.

Appointing him POTUS for life would also be wise.

Only he can save our freedoms.
