Ah. I've seen many Zionists who don't themselves eat what they cook.

So you eat dinner with zionists on a regular basis? They cook something and then don't eat it? Makes little sense to me

Doesn't seem like it matters really.

Anyway Krews flambait is gone so apparently the terms did get a trifle confused.

Don't fret, I'll be sure to correct any confusion of the terms in future. Do stop writing ' joooo ', however. It makes you sound like a Dortmund skinhead.

Here in Denmark children of Turkish immigrants who are born here are entitled to Turkish language teaching - applies to some other immigrant groups too. As an immigrant I speak my mother tounge to my children and my wife who has a different mother tounge does the same in part. Contrary to what you believe we believe we are giving our kids a better shot by doing so and in school their danish is on par with their peers. Had they learnt danish from us then this might not have been the case.

Our experience with our children has been that they learn primarily from their peers and not us. A vivid illustration of this was after a visit with a family from Birmingham. We weren't there for more than a couple of hours and yet our oldest managed to have a Brummy accent years later and yet she has never picked up my accent despite daily exposure!

I used to think like you that immigrant children who go to kindergarten learn the language there however experience has shown me that this is not in fact the case. I know children who have been through the kindergarten school system who still aren't fluent in Danish. The fact is that there are a number of prerequisites to learning a language which we tend to take for granted but which may be missing in immigrant groups.

I regard my children as having three mother tounges, languages which they have been exposed to daily almost throughout their entire lives. In our home there is no pressure to speak a certain language, everyone is free to speak what they want.
