LONDON (AP) — Britain shattered its record for highest temperature ever registered Tuesday amid a heat wave that has seared swaths of Europe, as the U.K.’s national weather forecaster said such highs are now a fact of life in a country ill-prepared for such extremes.

The typically temperate nation was just the latest to be walloped by unusually hot, dry weather that has triggered wildfires from Portugal to the Balkans and led to hundreds of heat-related deaths. Images of flames racing toward a French beach and Britons sweltering — even at the seaside — have driven home concerns about climate change.

The U.K. Met Office weather agency registered a provisional reading of 40.3 degrees Celsius (104.5 degrees Fahrenheit) at Coningsby in eastern England — breaking the record set just hours earlier. Before Tuesday, the highest temperature recorded in Britain was 38.7 C (101.7 F), set in 2019. By later afternoon, 29 places in the UK had broken the record.

Hotter in Britain, cooler in Germany.
Germany 2022 Summer ‘Heat Wave’? So Far July Has Been Cooler Than Long Term Mean
    By P Gosselin on 19. July 2022

The media and climate activists have been shouting about the hot weather in Europe – as if it has reached historic dimensions. They’ve been using wild fantasy 10-day model projections to intensify the sense of alarm. The whole act of course is to try to get people to think we’re in crisis and, like with COVID-19, to get a permanent state of emergency and lockdowns enacted.

How hot has the summer been in Germany so far this year?

We know June came in 2°C warmer than normal – warm, but nothing unusual. Certainly, with all the media hype we’ve been hearing, July must have been a real scorcher so far. But, as it’s sadly been the case for quite some time now, there’s a huge difference between reality and what the fake media report. Fact: July has been running cooler than normal in Germany so far (up to July 18). . . .

The unusually hot temperatures will only last for 2 or 3 days.

Maybe someone would care to explain how they think slight and gradual warming of earth's climate leads to increased chances of unusually hot temperature spikes, and then temperatures going back to baseline?

I mean, that doesn't really seem to be obvious, does it, when we actually stop to examine it.

Why would a 0.5 degree increase cause a 10 degree increase above normal that only lasts 2 days?

Is it really fair to blame this on "Global Warming"?

    The data are the data.
Yesterday at Facebook, Marcel Olberfeld posted the temperature anomaly data so far for July-2022 for a variety of stations across Germany.

    And yet:

". . . While it certainly is very hot in Europe and the Midwest, it is relatively cool elsewhere. The unfortunate reality for Biden’s planned exploitation is that today’s average global temperature per the University of Maine is a mere 0.2C warmer than the average from 1979-2000. It’s called “global warming,” and yet there’s really not much of that occurring.

We also know that heat waves are not associated with carbon dioxide emissions. The frequency and intensity of heat waves has dramatically declined in the U.S. over the past 100 years despite ever-rising emissions, per the National Climate Assessment conducted by the Obama-Biden administration. . . . Climate Crisis? Ever Fewer People Dying Of Climate Disasters. There’s Hype, And There’s Reality
    By P Gosselin on 20. July 2022

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned how the climate crazies and media are falling all over themselves, trying to get people to think we’re in crisis and that the only way out is to declare a permanent state of emergency, rationing and lockdowns .

But of course our weather and climate situation is not something we haven’t experienced before. It’s what weather does: behave abnormally. Today we present some charts to show that we are not in a “climate crisis”. Hat-tip: Marcell Oberfeld. . . .

You keep repeating that, but can you quote them proposing permanent emergency and lockdowns?

Right after you prove you don't kick puppies. If you can't, then by your standards, that proves you do kick puppies.

The one making the positive assertion has to prove it, especially when it's such a kook assertion.

    ... it's already starting.

Widespread "climate emergency" lockdowns will be on the way in due time... And they will be just as bogus and just as much of a hoax as the "COVID emergency" lockdowns were...

People need to wake up and realize that they are in an abusive relationship with their own government.

Has "COVID emergency" ended yet?? "Vaccines", after two and a half years, are STILL being classified and offered as EUA... Apparently the "emergency", after two and a half years, hasn't ended yet...

"Climate emergency" lockdowns will be next...

    LOL

I guess we'll see if you are right or wrong. So far the only people who have even mentioned it are conspiracy theorists such as yourself.

Good lord, NO. Please DO NOT come out of your basement yet. There are Covids everywhere. LOL

Sure man. I'll be here when you are ready to admit you fell for yet another conspiracy theory.

How about you prove that I do. You made an assertion. He made an assertion. It isn't my assertion to prove or defend. I can show evidence that many folks advocated for and have used lockdowns. Do you disagree? So by saying that "no one" has advocated for them is incredibly dishonest.

By your logic, I don't have to. If I make the assertion, the burden of proof is entirely on you to disprove it. Since you didn't, your logic defines you to be a puppy-kicker.

Since you haven't and won't, of course I disagree. That goes along with being rational.

But by all means, go on, show us your evidence that someone is demanding lockdowns for climate reasons.

Got it. Some random nobody on the internet is going to be your "evidence". Way to go!
