Some people in Africa live rather nicely. That said, Uncle Toms drag their race down with their short sighted selfishness.

 

They are the Government that lives off the backs of the people.

 

In other words there are Uncle Toms in Africa too.

That goes back all the way to the slave trade days. African tribes were generally in a perpetual war with each other over territory, hunting grounds and other resources. When the warriors did battle one tribe (the one winning the battle) usually captured warriors from the opposing tribe. They would make slave labor out of the other tribes captives, the ones that weren't needed were typically put to death. When the slave traders showed up, the tribes stopped killing the excess captives and started trading them for things like blankets, wax candles, oil lamps and the oil to run them, fire water, pre made bows and arrows and food.

A boat load of 30 white guys didn't just sail up to the continent of Africa and start throwing nets over tribesmen and hauling them back to the boat like they were fishing for Mackerel. You seem to be blaming the slave user not the slave dealer for selling them in the first place.

Think for a second, most slave ships carried a crew of 30 or less to make room for the slaves. African tribes of the time typically numbered from several hundred to several thousand, there was safety in numbers. The slave ship crews were armed with one shot flintlock pistols, one or two per man. A good man with one of these pistols could fire three rounds a MINUTE , the procedure to reload them is slow. I'm sure there were cannons and rifles aboard the ship, but they stayed aboard the ship. Assuming they would leave 10 crew to protect the ship from pirates. 20 guys with single shot pistols would be quickly overwhelmed by several hundred battle experienced warriors with spears, clubs and knives. So I highly doubt they were able to steal the tribe members for long before the warriors would be waiting to let 'em have it.

This is history look it up. I'd like to hear your theory of how they were able to steal those people if that's what you believe.

No its not. What I am doing is saying that Uncle Toms drag their race down, and that they have been doing it for a long time. Nothing that you have said refutes that notion. Not only that, but if you would have us believe that enduring the conditions that existed on those slave ships and having to tolerate the torture that slaves were subjected to was better than living under Mugabe's rule, then I am sorry, your position is absurd.

I'm not defending it, but they never blame their ancestors for selling them in the first place. That's all I'm saying, put the blame where it belongs.....on both sides.

We live in America. The blame belongs here in America where OUR people enslaved others. The blame belongs to all of us Who defined African-Americans as inferior human beings.
