No they aren't, I saw a North Vietnamese thrown out of a helicopter at 3000 feet in the interrogation by the ROK army. You can believe the others started talking immediately. War is ugly, just in case you find the will to pull your head out of the sand

The war was my first encounter with how ugly liberals can be, and after 45 years, you continue that ugliness

Yes, it is time for you to move on snake, you have no clue what serving is about

Then move on, this discussion is about how this soldier was treated, so don't waste your time here

There was nothing wrong with the way the soldier was treated.

Soliders aren't entitled to any special treatment. They get paid for their time, they get the GI bill, they get free healthcare for life, and many other smaller benefits.

Before you ask, yes, I did five years active duty and six in the guard/reserve.

Yeah, a guy didn't get his jacket hung up. Big friggin' deal. The fact that he was wearing a uniform doesn't make him any more or less special than anyone else.

Maybe not in England ...but to me, anyone who has a job where he/she puts his/her life on the line to protect us like soldiers, police and firemen, Is special.

Yeah, don't wear out those knee-pads while you're genuflecting before that special person...
Only the rabid right worship uniforms in Britain.

Well since you weren't there, and the other passengers who witnessed her behavior were, I will take their word for it.

No one was asking for special treatment, certainly not the soldier. There is discretion that any flight attendant can use, especially in this situation, because no one has yet to post the airlines rules on this.

The fact that he is a soldier is irrelevant.

He wasn't asking for special treatment? Yes he was, because he didn't want to crease his precious jacket!
Besides, most airline seats have one of these: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=a...K-Czech-Airlines%3Fcategory%3DSeats-1;640;640

Do I detect a little jealousy on your part? Certainly in you lib world he is not special, but to Americans, our soldiers are very special. There are fringe loons that don't hold our soldiers in high regard, and that is the why I posted the chances of the flight attendant being a liberal is huge. Conservatives don't treat our military that way. Being thoughtful and nice is not something that happens in your world

Why was he too special to use this: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=a...K-Czech-Airlines%3Fcategory%3DSeats-1;640;640

And what on earth is the 'jealousy' comment supposed to imply?

To you maybe, but the vast majority of Americans he isn't.

The way you described his jacket only examples my point further as to why some liberals despise the military.

The class A uniform is a badge of honor, something that is totally foreign to you

Yep, obviously far too loftily honourable to use a lowly coat hook too hang on...:roflol:

Sorry but where I come from indulging in idolatry is reserved for 'special' people.

Class A uniform is a badge of honor? Why because they issue one to every person in Basic Training?

There is nothing special about Class A uniform. Every soldier has one.

This "guy" in no way "whined". I take it you didn't read the story. He requested multiple times before he was actually told it was against policy. He even refused upgrades to first class.

What kind person calls that "whining"? He didn't know the reason. If someone tells me I can't walk into a building without my shoes on, I'd want to know what the reason is....even though I'm still going to comply.

Every soldier is a badge of honor. Every soldier signed the dotted line to, if necessary, fight to the death.

Well it is obvious that you don't hold the military in the high regard that the vast majority of us do, which supports my original post, any American that has a problem with our military is always a liberal. You obviously are a liberal

Lol pay? Yea, that E-3 making 24,000 a year really hit the jack pot. Also, you have to sacrafice a lot before you can reap any benefits. Usually, those that are only there for school benefits, don't cut it in basic. Nice try though :salute:

Also, is it wrong for a soldier to get health benefits? After all, it's a pretty risky profession, is it not? lol

If the Sgt. wanted first class luxuries, he should've paid for first class seating. We're already offered "front of the line" access at security checkpoints by showing our military I.D.'s, and that's a worthwhile nod to our service. If the serviceman was that concerned about the state of his jacket, he should've made the proper arrangements that don't conflict with airline policies.

No one in the military longer than 2 years is an E3. And actually, yes, 24,000 a year for someone with absolutely no qualification is pretty damn good.

Basic isn't that hard. Almost everyone makes it through.

Judging by the screenname, you're a serving member (or retired)? Perhaps you and I can discuss the comment you quoted, as I'd love to understand the disconnection.
