Biden is already unpopular and a habitual liar, looking forward to him answering questions about his family's lucrative business, my guess is he will drop out first.

btw, what is wrong with the Bidens?? Joe showered with his daughter, swam nude in front of female secret service agents, Hunter took all those dic pics of himself along with prostitutes, and now nude photos of Joe's brother Frank show up on some gay dating site. Classy bunch those Bidens.

    Ahhhhh... .I see

The photo was first found by right-wing nonprofit group Marco Polo, an organization headed by former Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler.

Keep dreaming. The American people are waking up to the lies of Biden and the Democrats. The economy is great. Anybody with their own opinion is bad if they don't agree with woke thinking. We know the American people will wake up from these lies that divide us. All the liberals thinking that today's focus should be an election from 3 years ago instead of today's failing policies of Biden or whomever is running the country.

That's so MAGA... No liberals are focused on the 2020 election, or the endless lies afterwards..

Well, maybe the prosecutors, who were given endless work....

MAGA - not a chance. Never have been and never will be one. But nice failed try!

Three years later. Get over it already. Let's focus on the failed policies of your dementia laden president.

What's 3 years later? Prosecutions? I agree it should have all been done by the end of 2022, but justice moves slowly...

For every "failed" policy of the current president, I can give you one from the previous president, plus open corruption...

If you don't want Biden back, I'd look for a better candidate from your MAGA side...

    Ooops...

Hmmm....would that be the "dementia laden" guy who occasionally trips over his words (and feet...) or the one who is apparently an evil mastermind who controls a sprawling crime family, who controlled the 'steal' of the previous election and who has plotted the downfall of your orange hero...??

You guys really need to pick a lane....

Why do republicans keep adjourning? They already had a week break.

They like to call everyone else lazy yet are barely in office at a critical time.

Apparently Scalise didn’t even get a majority, just more than Gym Jordan.

And also that he voted against accepting the election results, on January 6, 2021. I'm not sure if he's admitted that Biden is the legitimate President, but he has refused to lay blame for January 6th on Trump (though, you would agree with him, I imagine on at least that last, and possibly on the election results, as well). Nonetheless, all these things make him more acceptable to those in the "Freedom" fringe.

Naturally, he was the one, then-- since he was the most acceptable replacement for McCarthy, as #2 Republican in leadership-- who Republicans chose (by secret ballot). Which is not to say, that he will have enough votes, without any Dems, when they do it officially, with the House in session. So, the question may be, how long the Democrats are willing to let that clock tick away, without any House Speaker. I guess that will depend on a couple of things: any understandings they can agree to, if Scalise meets with them before the vote; and just how many votes Scalise can corral, among Republicans. If it's fewer than the number of Democrats, who will all vote for Jefferies, at least initially-- they will probably again expect some sort of governing coalition, with Republicans (which will be a very tough sell).

I thought he had said that he wasn't interested-- as amazing of a turnaround, as that was.

They still need to manage to not crash the economy, by approving a budget. Ukraine aid will soon be urgent. And I'm sure that both parties would like to have a House with a leader, given the recent developments in Israel.

Just because those 99 preferred Jordan, doesn't mean they won't vote for Scalise. I assume that was the whole point of doing a private, Republican vote: to show who had the most support, with the understanding-- or at least the hope-- that they would all coalesce, if at all possible, around that person, when the vote is real, on the House floor, and avoid another McCarthyesque mess. In either the OP, or early in the thread, Egoboy had quoted a Jordan supporter, who'd said that he would be fine with Scalise, as well.

Only thing I'm wondering, is why their vote tally was about 10 Republicans short.

The reprehensible conduct of the House of Representatives should make voters want to replace the entire body. This is the kind of 'revolution' that was built into the Constitution, providing the opportunity every two years to throw out everyone if necessary. At present, they are doing everything but their job. It is blindingly clear whom they have come to represent, and it is not "the people".

Yes to all of your questions. Same buy, but at least you fully recognize who he is. Thank you for that.

    What garbage…

An evil genius, while simultaneously a bumbling fool…

Anyone who tries to hold those two explanations together needs to take their own dementia medication….

"Mr Republican" himself has nixed Scalese.

No prospect of the House Republicans getting their act together is in sight.

    George Santos (R-N.Y.):

    Also, the erratic Nancy Mace:

She noted that Scalise had confirmed that he spoke to a group affiliated with former KKK leader David Duke: “Given what’s happening in Israel right now, I just cannot support someone who’s associated with anything that is divisive, whether it’s race or religion. I’m just a hard pass on that.”

Nobody ever included the words genius and Joe Biden in the same sentence. But you don't have to be a genius to be a criminal.

But many have used dementia with Joe Biden in the same sentence.

And we all know the Bidens traded politically for money. We just don't know how deep that goes yet.

McCarthy obviously decided that, with the meager margin that gave him alleged control of Congress, he could not afford the luxury of respecting moral standards.
