and how does china take over? their military don't have the capability to invade US mainland. i would rather live on a non-radiated land, with electricity, running water, cars, heating/air condition place.
it only take ONE bullet to kill a person. anymore than that is unnecessary. china has about half of nuke compare to US. after both exchange the nuke, the US we know it will not exist anymore.
its not upto the chinese to decide use nuke or not, its up to the military, which usually are hardliner. also would US start using nuke, if its government, land are on the verge been overrun by enemy force. there is a reason why there aren't any war between nuke nations
We wouldnt. The losses would be so high we could never justify it. We would basically have to bomb the entire nation into powder. We would have to dramatically reduce their population to even make an occupation possible. An attack is one thing, but an invasion (an occupation) would require the complete resources of the entire US...meaning every last man, woman and child and every last bit of military hardware. At best it would completely bankrupt us (for real). The US would never do that. They would have to be a serious and immediate threat to justify such an action. If it ever got that far, we would nuke them first. We could conceivably attack them, but we would never invade them.
like i said a total war with a nuclear power country can't be won. its not just nuke, but china has decent equiped army and air defense. death from ally side will be in the millions. you can't attack china without worry about russia, russia very likely to help china, so china won't become western puppet state. how many american die just in korean war. a war with china is gonna involve many countries, basically wwiii, and the end will be someone might use nuke when push to a corner.
The military is subordinate to the party leadership, not the other way around. Bullets can miss. That is why all guns carry more than one bullet. The same applies to nukes. Nukes can misfire or not go off... detonating a nuke is actually hard to do. The older nukes get, the less reliable they become. That is why they have to be maintained and eventually replaced. Nukes are expensive to keep. LOL! You cannot possibly be that ignorant. The US has over 5000 nukes Source - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_weapons_and_the_United_States China has about 400 Source - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People...d_weapons_of_mass_destruction#Nuclear_weapons
Gradually you are becoming more and more like your fortuneteller uncle. From now onwards, your president will be very worry that your prediction will come true.
right use wiki as source. when was china last time public annouce thier nuke stockpile or their secret military project. NO ONE KNOWS how many nuke they actually have, not even US military. after cold war, US offer assistance for russia nuke, they plan for 10k nuke dissemble equipment but the russia said they require twice that amount. it shows nuke is still the most secret information within a country. there are even claim china has 3k nukes. their doctrine is LIMITED deterrence. in the even of nuke war china study the effictive amount of nuke required after they been hit by nuke, and still has enough nuke to destroy the other country. ps i was refer to total megaton of firepower. Rankings of world thermonuclear powers by megatons of firepower: 1. Russia - 1,273 megatons 2. United States - 570 megatons 3. China - 294 megatons (China has over half the nuclear firepower of the United States) 4. France - 55 megatons 5. Britain - 16 megatons References: Russia: http://www.nti.org/db/disarmament/country_russia.html United States: http://www.nti.org/db/disarmament/country_usa.html China: http://www.nti.org/db/disarmament/country_china.html France: http://www.nti.org/db/disarmament/country_france.html Britain: http://www.nti.org/db/disarmament/country_uk.html
This. We're on the verge of a dollar collapse, and when that happens, we're going to stop digging ourselves into a hole with a shovel and start using the heavy machinery.
It is a pity you are not elected the President of the United States. It shows the weakness of democracy in which candidates of mediocre quality, instead of the real genius, are elected to run the country. Alas! Democracy has mercilessly cut off the head of a world-class genius.
The U.S. has 1.46 million active military personnel and another 1.46 million reserve personnel. Of those, we have 767,000 active and reserve Army (NOT counting the National Guard, which should never be deployed overseas) and 241,000 active and reserve Marines. If we pulled out of every one of our Army and Marine bases around the world, and activated all reserves, we could field an occupation force of 1 million troops. Now, if we actually allow the Chinese police to help us by continuing to keep law and order, instead of making the same mistake that we did in Iraq, I have no doubt that we could successfully occupy China. Of course, it would never actually come to that - we'd see every American city turned to glass and ash if we tried. The backpack nuke is a vastly superior idea.
Of course it can. Thats why the Soviets started making bigger bombs. Because accuracy could not be guaranteed on the smaller ones. And you base this assumption on...what? Because your source is so much better...oh, wait a minute. You had no source. Are you expecting us to just take your word for it? Where exactly did you get your figures from anyway? LOL! If no one knows, then how did you arrive at your "OMG China has half as many nukes as the US" figure?? Why are you making claims based on stuff that no one knows? Why stop there? Maybe China has 500k nukes? of a billion? NO ONE KNOWS...right? LOL I mean, if you are just making up numbers anyway, there is no reason to stop at 3k. Even if that were true it would be irrelevant...one 500MT bomb at one city will not cause as much damage as 500 1MT bombs aimed at 500 cities. Since you are still refusing to provide your sources, this is all conjecture on your part anyway. Your US reference shows "page not found"...not terribly convincing. Explain why you consider NTI.org a superior source to Wikipedia.
this really depend how we went into china. if we went into china cause a civil war similar to arab spring then the chinese police will help. if its due to taiwan or other chinese core interest. i doubt chinese police will help. since chinese citizen these day are very nationlistic. its impossible to invade a country when that country citizen are against you these days. think soviet and afahan war.
because wiki is good for general information, where common information are available. its not good for specific detail military information, common sense. for that you have to goto defense website or article from defense expert to get better info. like i said no one know how many they have. and wiki is not a reliable source for these kind of info. http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/china/nuke.htm
Although the Chinese government is trying to whip the people into an all-time nationalism high, there's not much pro-Communist sentiment, nor much anti-American sentiment, and most Chinese people are still primarily concerned with their own lives and their own needs. The police would totally help us - especially if their paychecks depended on it!
I cannot believe that this thread has gone 10 pages. The US would never launch a land attack on China. There is nothing there we want. Future wars between super powers will be proxy wars or economic. Should an actual shooting war develop, and that's a real long shot, it would our navy and air force against theirs.
The U.S. would be stupid to use nuclear weapons even if they were being invaded. I'd rather be Chinese than dead. In some areas, I'd rather be Chinese right now. We have terrible leaders if they are willing to risk nuclear war rather than being taken over. Lands have been conquered numerous times in history. I see no reason why it should be any different now.
i won't go that far. if you look at South china sea or taiwan or goto chinese forum you see millions chinese criticize US involvement in taiwan or south china sea issues. especially the college kids. even though chinese complain about ccp corruption etc, but they still consider US intervention on any chinese issues as anti-china. its more about china as whole than CCP. they don't want 19th century china happen all over again, and they are very protective about that.
No one invades nuclear powers. See why N.Korea can't be touched. Why Pakistan can't be touched. Why Iran wants them, and why going into Iraq should have proved in the 1st place there were no WMDs. As for using nukes when being over ran, I'm all for it. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tna3B5zqHdk&feature=related"]Talladega Nights - Piss Excellence - YouTube[/ame]
Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Argentina all prove you wrong. Saddam used WMDs extensively in the 1990s and 1980s.
