    Yes he was God:

    Oh wait, He wasn't:

I would think the Bible would be a little more clear on this.

Was Jesus God? Or was He not?

You got it. Three aspects (liquid, solid, gas) --
    same substance.

You would think that he would have told his disciples as well. Instead, he asked them who they thought he was. It was Peter who guessed that he was the Messiah, the only Son of God. Jesus said that the Father had revealed this to him, and charged them to not tell anyone else at that time.

So there ya go, it was a "secret" of sorts. Why do you think that was?

Because the Jews would call him a heretic and kill him?

yes he is. Was would indicate past tense, he is God, he is also Jesus and he is also the Holy Spirt. The trinity can be a little hard to understand for anyone.

Ok, I'll answer for ya. It would have been blasphamy because he made himself equal to God.

Jesus wasn't trying to rush his death before his time. I wouldn't use the word "Heretic" but rather blasphemy was his danger.

My only point here is that Jesus was nailed to the cross because he elevated his own status to that of God. If not, what was so heretical about his teachings?

Are you kidding? Christ taught that money lending, interest on loans, and greed in general, was evil. How much more anti-Jewish can you get than that? It's no wonder why the Jews wanted Him to die just as much as the Romans!

More accurately, no one has ever demonstrated any understanding of it whatsoever, assuming there is anything in it that lends itself to understanding; and to put a finer point on it, insofar as it depends on the idea that Jesus is God, it's bloody nonsense.

Then your point is worthless, because nothing in the Gospels indicates He ever did any such thing.

The Romans had never even heard of that character until the Christians started gaining their attention.

If he wasn't then we all go to hell. Unless one assumes that God doesn't really care about justice.

And if He was then we can't follow His example, so we still go to Hell.

You are both right. There is no argument here,or shouldn't be anyway.

EDIT: Though the Jews wanted him to die for the reason as montra said. Technically, "money lending, interest on loans, and greed in general, was evil" is not considered a Heretical teaching.

You can call Jesus anything you want to. But he never did do anything godly. And his message was weak.

There are passages where Jesus had the boss castigating one of his servants because he didn't earn any interest on his money. BTW, Jesus never did give anyone anything. Who was more greedy than that?

No. He was an enemy, a combatant, king of the Jews, a terrorist - that's why the Americans - Ahem, sorry: the Romans - tortured him in Guantamo - ahem: Golgota - and executed him without process - ah sorry: with process.

We do not go to hell because we cannot fully behave as Jesus behaved. That was the point of his coming in human flesh and submitting to the cross that the demands of justice might be paid for us rather than by us.
