I'd propose doing like we do with gang members. If a gang member commits a violent crime their punishment is far more severe because they are part of a group who is more likely than other groups to commit violent crime.

The same should be true with blacks. If they commit a violent crime then their punishment should be more severe because they're part of a group who commits violent crime at an absurd rate.

 

Not obscure. Simply dealing with the FACT that 98% of black Americans DO NOT COMMIT murder. So if you want to pull hatred for black American citizens out of your butt because of statistics, then smoke on that one.

 

My position is consistent. I'm after the offender because the offender has done something wrong. The victim has not (in most cases). So the victim doesn't need to change their behavior or be punished. The offender does.

The best thing we can do for the victim is control the offender.

 

So tell us why blacks commit 52% of our total murder when they only make up 14 % of the population.

So one in three Black men one sees is likely a criminal or a future criminal. Terrible odds. The only way to reduce this number is to slam all violent offenders hard, as they did back before the 1960's.

 

Males make up less than 50% of the population yet account for well over 90% of the violent crime.

 

Poor males account for the vast majority of crime in this country.

 

No three strikes. First time every time.

If you take blacks out of that equation the rest of the races poor people don't have a problem. But you wouldn't be willing to do that cause you want to make this an everyone problem when it isn't.

Because it is one more attempt to paint an entire segment of a population with a statistic that only applies to a small percentage of said population.
