My original point, and question, was WHAT court cases? If I remember my history right just about ALL the court cases brought up against slavery on Constitutional grounds were decided in slavery's FAVOR

And you're right. Lincoln could haven't abolished slavery Constitutionally but he was never given the chance. The slave states decided to go outside the law and take up violence before anyone even TRIED to abolish slavery Constitutionally or otherwise. They were TRAITORS pure and simple, betrayers of their Homeland and murderers of their countrymen, they deserved Dusty Death and to have their names erased from history for all time but we are a better people than that and have even recognized the courage that some of them showed in murdering us

 

I'm pretty sure there is a lot of murder and drinking and what not in country music....

Johnny Cash sang, "I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die" and did other songs such as Cocaine Blues, a song about shooting his "bad bitch down", with lyrics such as:

I went right home and I went to bed

there is no shortage of stuff like that in art and music of all kinds made by people from all backgrounds.

And then you have the president of the US, who is a great role model in regard to sex and violence:

That's my point. The cases were won in FAVOR of slavery because it was in the constitution. The northern states simply refused to follow the constitution.

And your argument doesn't make sense.

If you and I enter into an agreement and we both willfully sign a contract defining our rights and responsibilities under that agreement. If I refuse to uphold my responsibilities that are clearly defined in the contract. Then because I refuse to uphold my part of the contract you want out of our partnership.

Again, I don't understand,, what did the Free states continue to do or refuse to do that violated the Constitutional rights of the Slave states? As far as my small memory of history suffices I've been told that the Slave states had "slave catchers" who could go into Free states and, with the force of law, bring slaves back. Indeed, since the methods of IDing people of any sort were primitive they often just kidnapped Free blacks and dragged them off to Gehenna. I've not seen the movie but I think 12 Years A Slave is about that. Now that was Constitutional and the Free States put up with that and other things because it was Constitutional and the Confederate states STILL revolted.

The fugitive slave clause. The northern states were making laws that essentially said any black people in their territory, even escaped slaves, were free men. And as such any slavecatcher who tried to take them back was committing kidnapping. This was declared unconstitutional in the case I referenced to you earlier. Yet even after the decision they continued to make laws that did such. And their proxy the federal government refused to enforce the ruling from the SCOTUS... unconstitutionally.

My last paragraph was in reference to the fact that if two people enter into a contract. The contract will define rights and responsibilities of both parties. Both parties agree to those responsibilities. If one party refuses to uphold their responsibilities then they have no right whatsoever to demand that the other party upholds theirs. Furthermore if they continue to violate the contract and refuse to stop, unless the other party agrees to the change in the agreement then the contract becomes null and void. And the party at fault is not the party who wants out of the contract. The party at fault is the one who originally violated the agreement. In the context we are discussing it was the North.
