I have learned not to accept simplistic models or equations as "real life". My father was an electronics engineer. I am a biologist. He didn't like biology as a science, too mushy. And the mushiest is ecology. Gotta take in the whole, not a sampling nor a more simplifying equation. Consider when California rarely had a Gray Whale sighting, we didn't have starving sea lion pups.
