Right now FFL's have to keep books that are not kept centrally to prove that they are following the law and the federal government often confiscates these if they decide to shut down a dealer for reasons as small as a spelling error. Universal background checks also means that you would have to go to an FFL and pay a fee for the FFL to do the background check and provide the paperwork to transfer any firearm, meaning you would have to take your wife down to the local gun store to transfer a gun to her for protection.

On top of all of this, it would do nothing to stop criminals from stealing guns or buying them on the black market.

    Useless.

I chose the 3-day waiting period because I don't believe in any of the other choices. It would be great if in the 3-day period they would discover which of them are criminals or crazy and lock the bastards up.

Why no option "none of the above"?

I find it fascinating that out of 30 voters, only two are opposed to barrel shrouding and pistol grips. Either of those legally turns a normal rifle into an assault rifle.

A bb gun is an assault rifle if i shoot you at point blank and enough times.

What a ridiculous name the Enemy American Liberals thought up.

    Other.

A rigorous, expensive, ongoing assessment and training program paid for by the gun owner to ensure they know wtf they're doing since most haven't a clue wtf to do in any kind of actual confrontation.

Most would fail. No gun for you, BillyBobJoe.

A wholly unwarranted assumption since people seem to figure it out about a million or so times a year without anyone ever getting shot.

    I
    .

Yet based on the current best available evidence the only thing wrong with the view you refuse to accept is that you don't like it. Empirical evidence strongly suggests that increasing the avaialbility of weapons to the general public along with along with stand your ground laws and and liberalized concealed carry laws is the most effective way in which to decrease violent crime of all varieties.

Then surely this would mean no country is fit for self-governance.

Most countries stop the widespread holding of murder-weapons, surely? Only people with fantasies about Eighteenth Century life and rights suppose otherwise.

Total ban on all weapons except Bolt action shotguns, Rifles (bolt action only), musketry, BB/pellet (pump action/gas only).

This way people's rights under the 2nd amendment are protected and they can still defend themselves and property.

Also we should ban all free speech by electronic means. That way the people's rights under the 1st amendment are protected and they can still communicate via mail.

Hardly protected...simply diluted past the point of effectiveness. The founders defined the right a tad more broadly. Your definition of a protected right would protect speech to only include speech that had been approved by the government as you insert government permission into the 2nd.

No gun control is appropriate. It's only an attack on your second amendment rights. We need to go out and buy up all the handguns we can and carry them with us anywhere we go. We need to pass laws that allow handguns to be carried in schools but by no children under the age of 12. And only after they have been taught how to handle guns safely.

The 2nd amendment say people have a right to "arm" themselves, but it doesn't say with what. Could it be a rocket launcher? bazooka? If the government wanted to push the issue they could probably get away with saying that slingshots fit the definition under the 2nd amendment.

Americans have a right to arm themselves with anything they choose, including bombs, missiles, guns, crossbows, slingshots, pea shooters, and anything else. Americans also have a right to carry their arms wherever they please and at any time. And that includes schools. Period!
