    Come now, Ms. Bump!

    And your point is?

    That right, I forgot!

    You never have a point.

You just like to practice the politics of "class envy"!

Class envy or not, revolutions happen. Should we let them eat cake, Louis?

If they're on the wrong side of the revolution, they should be crushed.

And they are most certainly on the wrong side.

The point of Ms Bump is that revolution, unrest, demonstrations, rioting (call it what you will) will always come from the lowest sector of society,, the most under-privileged, the most down troden, under-educated etc. Not the upper echelon of society.

    Please read your history.

Not only is this assertion no indicator of whether they are right or not, it also wasn't the case in early America.

"The aim of the High is to remain where they are. The aim of the Middle is to change places with the High. The aim of the Low, when they have an aim -- for it is an abiding characteristic of the Low that they are too much crushed by drudgery to be more than intermittently conscious of anything outside their daily lives -- is to abolish all distinctions and create a society in which all men shall be equal. Thus throughout history a struggle which is the same in its main outlines recurs over and over again."

Revolution is almost always about more than looting and getting free stuff...This not revolution but simple greed for the wealth of others writ large.

It was a movie analogy...'Dirty Harry'....implying that one does not always get what one expects.

Unfortunately, people aren't seeing it that way. Even Warren Buffet is saying the wealthy have been 'coddled'. There has been a giant sucking sound at the top since R. Reagan.

I'm not concerned about "the wealthy" in the sense that you believe that they've been "coddled". What I'm concerned about is people like you lumping people like me in with the wealthy, when I haven't been coddled whatsoever.

'The People' are often delusional...they voted for Obama and look what we got and where we are...

Ah, Subdermal, if you're not with them then you're against them and will be put against the wall and shot with "them" when the great revolution comes.

Why would someone choose to not work? Well, let's see. Don't have to get up before noon. Don't have someone telling you that you have to do, well, anything. You can spend the afternoon drinking and doing drugs. Then you meet your friends at dark and go preying on the community until it's so late everyone who works is in bed and then you drink and do drugs until you go to bed and get ready to start it all over again. Add to that, the fact that you get food, money, clothing, health care, housing, and whatever from the government, pick up some money by hook or crook which, of course, goes unreported. And, when the children arrive, you get to put them on the dole, too, and raise them to see working as something suckers do. Lastly, if you get caught stealing, beating, robbing...you get a caution.

So - don't be concerned. I'm referring to the same wealthy people Buffet is referring to.

You are giving zero responsibility to the wealthy and the conservatives in power who created this mess?

And just how did the wealthy and the conservatives in power create this mess?

This mess was created by a very permissive society and a overly liberal "nanny" state in which these young people all feel "entitled" to take whatever they want!

Here is an angry face and destructive behavior only a mother can love! Mayor Michael A. Nutter, telling marauding black youths in Philadelphia, “you have damaged your own race,” imposed a tougher curfew Monday in response to the latest “flash mob” — spontaneous groups of teens who attack people at random on the streets of the city’s tourist and fashionable shopping districts.

“Take those God-darn hoodies down, especially in the summer,” Mr. Nutter, the city’s third black mayor, said in an angry lecture aimed at black teens. “Pull your pants up and buy a belt ‘cause no one wants to see your underwear or the crack of your butt.”

Democracy is a delusion design for the wealthy to stay in power and remain in control. Both candidates held hand in hand on basically most views during the running while media manipulated the strings that both parties paid to control.

Do you think press meetings and articles are cheap? Anyone can buy the media if they have enough money.

The game was rigged from the start, if people think they have a choice in democracy than they need to check themselves into the mental health clinic. :gun:

I remember reading this article. It's a bizarre attempt to tie the riots to "liberals" and it fails.

    Well, it is a tabloid.

They want to steal stuff and they have every reason to believe they can do so with total immunity.

We don't have democracy, so you are correct in saying the OUR democracy is a delusion (or an illusion). What we have is a corporatocracy, which replaced the oligarchy, which replaced democracy for the few white landholders, which replaced the monarchy. We almost come full circle. Notice how the CEOs reject the title "lord". It's all for show.

Sorry, what we have is a representative democracy that is being turned into a socialist state. Back to civics class for Phoebe. Your story, purporting to be history, is silly but I suppose it amuses you.

Go on believing that if you like, but what we have is a constitutional republic. The very antithesis of democracy.
