Yes, Trump has not acted. When he does, I hope he considers issues more deeply than he has so far, and doesn't do crazy stuff merely because he said it on his web site. He hasn't stuck by his web site so far, so being on his web site is not a rational argument for what he might or might not do.

The free market is already well known. We had a "before ACA" and we have a "now". We have insurance company experts saying what they can do and what they can't do. And, we have the knowledge that free market capitalism doesn't care whether we live or die.

You can't describe a willingness to allow people to die as "putting on big boy pants". We KNOW we don't have to let people die. It's been done all over the world.

We need to "put on our big boy pants" and do what's right. And, allowing people to die is not "what's right".

There is no reason to believe that lowering corporate taxes would result in corporations caring more about employee health care. Corporations create compensation packages based on competitive forces - what other companies are doing, local cost of living, etc.

 

We don't have to ask everything we need from the government.

Hey, I used to walk past homeless people begging for money all the time when I lived in the city. It's not my job to tell them that they can't be homeless. I mean, I want to tell them that they should try a bit harder, but it's not really a decision that I feel comfortable making since it's not my butt warming a cement sidewalk.

How are we different? You want people to get health care and I want people to have a place to live.

Yes, corporations do NOT price cars so people can drive!!

Cars are sold at the price where profit is maximized. They create a curve that shows how many cars they could sell at each price point. The price they pick is the point where the number of cars sold times that price is maximized.

They don't care whether everyone can buy their car. They care whether they make the most profit.

What is sad is even the French have figured it out. They pay about half as much per capita for healthcare and out perform the U.S. in every category related to health.

Well, you haven't specified a public policy change you would like to see, so I'm not sure how we're different.

We do make public policy to work on homelessness. Right now, homelessness is one of the top very few issues here in Seattle and in a number of other cities. We've been interested in what Salt Lake City is doing about their problem with homelessness, as it is a somewhat different strategy than what we and most others have been doing.

As for the gun idea, taxation is an absolute requirement of civilization. So, if you don't want to be part of our civilization, you may have to start hunting around for a place to be.
