They won't. They are simply following the carrot even if it means following that carrot off a 1000 foot cliff.

Explain your question please. What do you mean by it? Are you of the opinion that people have a right to another person's hard work?

How does health care being a right entitle you to someone else's work?

Like in Huxley's Brave New World. In a classroom for Betas the children chant "I'm so glad I'm a Beta. Alphas have to work too hard."
They are pro than yobably happier than you who want to stir up resentment.

Because that's not how I view it. I'm not referring to a difference in values, but a difference in delusion. Democrats are predominantly Christian too. It was delusional to think that allowing gays to get married would undermine heterosexual marriages. It is delusional think that immigrants are driving up serious crime. It is delusional to think transexuals are threatening our children. Most republican social issues are just hyped up bullshit to get people riled up. It's not values. It's delusion.

As to the lazy poor, that wasn't really my point. My point was these bullshit social issues are how republicans get some of the poor to go along with them.

Agree that defrauding the system is something to address, and that incentives should be aligned with goals, i.e. protect people from starving, but don't incentivize non-productivity.

Exactly. And you do not have a Right to their work. Ergo, you do not have a Right to Healthcare.

So you have a right to free speech, that means someone must provide a venue for you to speak
So you have a right to a gun, that means someone must provide a gun for you.

Nope and nope. Rights can be exercised on an individual basis with no direct input from anyone else. If it requires someone else's direct input then its no longer a right. There is no way you can get health care from a doctor or nurse without seeing a doctor or nurse.

I can make/buy my own gun. I can make/buy my own podium to speak from. I cannot make/give myself my own healthcare (indeed, experts even tell doctors to not treat themselves).

Sorry but its still right, this is proven by the fact that several country's have it as a right.

If I claim it is my right to kill you does that mean that Joe Blow down the street can rightfully kill you? Of course not. Same thing with "several country's". Just because someone or some other country claims it as a "Right" does not mean it is actually a Right. What you did was commit a fallacy known as an Association Fallacy.

Nope, rights are completely made up, so if a country says that healthcare is a right, then in that country it IS a right.

And since the OP is talking about the US and ONLY the US in this thread, your reference to other countries is even more meaningless... and off topic.

Well in that case I say it SHOULD be a right here and other country's where it is don't seem to problems with it.

Don't care about other countries. You do not have a Right to other Peoples work. I will never support slavery. We abolished that crap and I do not want it back.

If you force someone to provide their services to someone else...that is slavery in my book. The only difference between what you propose, and what happened during the slavery era is that of who the "ownership" is applied to, Individual vs Government and one was an obvious cage while the other is a gilded cage.
