That's probably a fair statement. I haven't canvassed a bunch of people to figure it out. LOL

At this point in time, though, I believe the issue is Donald Trump. He has been a long-standing opponent of vaccines and anti-vaxxers (from both sides) liked that. Now, they are struggling with their loyalty to him and his promoting the vaccine to the point of wanting it named after him.

This kind of groupthink is exactly why I'm not a blindly allegiant to either party and certainly not one human being.

I'm currently single and it never hurts to see "Vaccinated" in a lady's profile. I know lots of my fellow conservatives are anti-vax/mask but I'm pro-science and science takes priority over politics IMO

That's exactly how it's intended to work. I am also single but I'm not interested in a relationship. I think, if I were, it would be something I'd want to know regardless of which side of the fence the prospective person was on.

If I were single and on a dating site, it would be something I would ask about before meeting someone in person, so nice to know.

I think government needs to get out of the way. Urging people to get vaccinated is fine. Creating incentives for them be vaccinated is fine. Forcing them is the opposite. My wife is terrified of the vaccines, probably because the media reports she reads. She fears the virus too but not as much. And she is a senior citizen with respiratory problems. Urging won't help. They need to find a way to go forward without 100% vaccinations. Protect freedom of choice. Abandon authoritarianism.

I think I told you this before but I'm not certain. I am also vaccine hesitant for the same reasons. I am also concerned about the virus because I have some underlying health conditions. I'm not a senior citizen. I have asthma.

You are correct that urging doesn't help. I feel cornered and unheard when (probably well-meaning) people try. And, all these giveaways, raffles and such make it even harder to comprehend. The way I see it, I can ALWAYS get the vaccine, but I can't undo it if something goes wrong.

Since the same sentiment exists in my own home, I can only say that I understand and support your right to that opinion. I wish my wife would get vaccinated because it would protect her but I can't and won't force her. She is an adult and the owner of her own body and health. Her unwillingness to vaccinate affects my life as well but that is a small price to pay for her comfort.

You can always get the vaccine but, if you become infected, you will no longer need one. The risk is that the underlying condition won't get you. Hope it all works out for you.

I admire your respect of her wishes. I've been hearing of people kicking their kids out of the house, pending divorces and employment termination over people's right to choose for themselves.
Thank you. I had COVID in November. Based on discussions here and other websites, it is said to get the vaccine anyway. It's hard to know which way is up.

If you had Covid then then there is no reason at all to be vaccinated. You already have natural immunity. My wife, on the other hand, has not been infected.

That makes sense to me too. That's why I don't understand why they are pushing it for everyone including those of us that have already survived.

I think they imagine some of the tests were false positives. I think they imagine that people will lie about having natural immunity. Whatever. There is no medical reason for a person with natural immunity to be vaccinated no matter what they think. It is a no "no brainer" for you.

Not exactly. My situation is complicated because I have NO idea how I contracted it. I never leave the house except for doctors' appointments, don't have any contact with neighbors and the friend that does my shopping and errands tested negative. I was asymptomatic. I was required to get tested before an outpatient procedure.

So, you see, I also wonder if I got a false positive.

Nothing is 100%. You could have contracted it at the doctor's office. I wouldn't worry about the vaccine.

When I talked to the rep. from the Health Department, she didn't seem concerned about that as a possible source because I was there 5 days before I tested positive. She was only concerned about the exposure I had within the previous 48 hours of the positive test.

Thanks for talking to me about this. ;-)
