As I said thank God for people like you or else my workshops wouldn’t be so successful. But I have to admit I have not really worked with anyone who is as openly bigoted

    You're missing the point.

Discounting the accomplishments of white males by saying their accomplishments are the result of their privilege and not their effort is the politically incorrect equivalent of discounting the accomplishments of African Americans by say their accomplishments are not the result of their effort but rather hundreds of years of animal husbandry thanks to white males.

...and white male privilege is a construct created by feminists, along with toxic masculinity, men are mutants of females, toxic masculinity, bad posture is discrimination against women equivalent to rape, men should be forced by law to sit when they pee et cetera et cetera et cetera

    Equal Accountability Equals Equality
“Today, the average full-time working woman earns just 77 cents for every dollar a man earns…in 2014, that’s an embarrassment. It is wrong.”
–President Obama, remarks on equal pay for equal work, April 8, 2014

Liberals believe stupid things because they believe completely in things in the complete absence of evidence in the presence of overwhelming contradictory evidence, and The Wage Gap is an excellent example of this. That’s why it’s another stupid thing Liberals believe.

Normally you’ll always find these three statistics in every single study you read: a mean, a standard deviation, and a measurement of statistical significance like confidence intervals. However, a study exists on the wage gap that’s so good it doesn’t have confidence intervals. Normally a study will calculate confidence intervals because they tell you how likely population statistics are within a certain margin of error of the sample you actually took based on that samples size. However this study was so inclusive there was no need to calculate population parameters like confidence intervals, because the sample in this study is the entire population. This study is that good. The study titled tiled “An analysis of the reasons for the disparity between the wages of men and women” was prepared for The United States Department of Labor Employment Standards Division in 2009 by the CONSAD research corporation.

The 2009 study for the United States Department of Labor Employment Standards Division found that all but 5% of the 22% wage gap is explained by choices made by the genders and there’s no evidence to suggest the remaining 5% is the result of discrimination. In fact evidence suggests the remaining 5% gap is the result of more choice namely the Researchers at CONSAD believe the 5% gap is the result of women choosing more compensation in the form of non-wage benefits but the Researchers at CONSAD couldn’t quantify this factor because of the limitations of their model, namely multivariate regression analysis.

When there is a high R value (coefficient of correlation) between independent variables in multivariate regression analysis the results can’t be quantified because there is said to be collinearity. Basically, when there is collinearity, you can’t tell what’s influencing what. Is the independent variable, benefits, being influenced by the dependent variable, gender, or is the dependent variable being influenced by another independent variable in the model? However, it’s possible that the remaining 5% is the result of more choice that just couldn’t be quantified statistically. In a forward to the CONSAD study Charles E. James, SR, Deputy Assistant Secretary For Federal Contract Compliance wrote:

Although additional research in this area is clearly needed, this study leads to the unambiguous conclusion that the differences in the compensation of men and women are the result of a multitude of factors and that the raw wage gap should not be used as the basis to justify corrective action. Indeed, there may be nothing to correct. The differences in raw wages may be almost entirely the result of the individual choices being made by both male and female workers

Even though it’s almost been entirely proven that the wage gap is the result of choice, not discrimination, liberals insist on blaming the consequences of women’s choices and actions on men. For example, Barack Obama also insinuated a 22% wage gap exists that’s the result of discrimination in his 2013 and 2014 State of the union addresses. [5]

Some of the pay gap can be explained by what the genders tend to choose to study at university. For example, men are much more likely to study STEM (science technology engineering and math). For instance, in a paper by Andresse St. Rose titled “STEM Major Choice and the Gender Pay Gap” she found in 2007 women earned 17 percent of Bachelors degrees in engineering, compared to earning 79 percent of Bachelors degrees in education. In 2006 women earned only 20 percent of Bachelor degrees in physics, computer science, and engineering.[2] In a 2007 paper by Dey and Hill titled Behind the Gender Pay Gap they found STEM degrees tend to have higher salaries than their peers with degrees in other disciplines. For example, one year after graduation, an education major working full time earned, on average, about 60 percent as much as an engineering major working full time ($525 versus $851 per week)[3] Despite earning most of the degrees in post-secondary education women are choosing not to major in subjects that result in them being qualified for the lucrative careers men are more likely to be qualified for when they graduate, and according to Liberals this is men’s fault? If liberals believe in equality then shouldn’t they believe women should be equally accountable for the consequences of their actions and choices as men? Blaming men for the consequences of your actions and choices is not accountability.

For decades, liberals have claimed that discrimination blocks women from landing academic positions in STEM fields. However a paper published online by the National Academy of Sciences by Wendy M Williams and Stephen J. Cecil titled National Hiring experiments Reveal 2:1 Faculty Preference For Women on STEM Tenure Track found that in experiments with professors from 371 colleges and universities across the United States that science and engineering faculty actually preferred women two-to-one over identically qualified male candidates for assistant professor positions. [4]

If you’re preferred 2:1, you’re not being discriminated against. Some people might even go so far as to suggest a 1:1 preference of identically qualified candidates would be equality and a 2:1 preference for women over identically qualified male candidates is actually an indication of discrimination against men, not women.

You are missing the point. Civil rights is totally about leveling the playing field, after White men cheated for centuries.

This is a video of dozens of Feminists physically and sexually assaulting peaceful passive men while thousands of other Feminists cheer them on.... You know, like all civil rights movements do...

There's a better way. That better way is Equalitarianism. Equalitarian's believe inequalities are wrong when those inequalities are the result of discrimination, regardless of race and gender. Equalitarians do not believe in manufacturing equal outcomes. Equalitarians simply believe that everyone should be judged as individuals based on their merit and their race and gender should not even matter.

Men of all races experience enormous discrimination -- the 63% Sentencing Gap affects all men. Minority men get at least 15% longer sentences then white men.

    They receive longer sentences.

African Americans are also more likely to be convicted at lower evidence standard.

    Perhaps Affirmative Action is fair.

But treating male victims of Domestic Violence as perpetrators is inhumane and evil. Presumption of Guilt for all men accused of Sexual Misconduct is evil.

Again with your extremism I am not saying that males accomplished everything because they were white. All I am saying that for the past few hundred years they had the advantage of being white and male. It didn’t mean they were all successful but they started the race before the others
The rest of what you wrote is just extremism.Obviously you have a problem with seeing anything gray everything is women bad man good and making these absolutely ridiculous strawman.
As I have stated before my husband was honest enough to admit that when he was given the opportunity to go down on the trading floor he had the advantage of being white and male. When you looked down on the trading floor there was not a black face nor a woman other than secretaries. Things have changed thank goodness and it’s because of those bad feminists

I really hope you are being an activist since you see men as victims of domestic violence so much. We all have to choose our battles. I tend to think more women are victims of domestic violence so I am active in that. Things don’t happen..do something!....men should be heard on this issue.i agree. They suffer the same thing that women rape victims have suffered for years and that’s not being believed

Please can you stop fibbing about my position. It's clear troll.

I have referred repeatedly to how zero discrimination is the first best outcome. We know, however, that hasn't been achieved. We also know that passive policies, such as equal pay legislation, have only had marginal success.

We have three major positions. First, embrace bigotry and do nothing (a very popular option on this forum it would seem). Second, give pleasant sounding soundbites and do nothing. That is inherently tacit support for continued discrimination. Third, admit that we need to switch emphasis from passive to active labour market policy. Such policies aren't permanent, but continue to operate until empirical evidence dictates.

He quotes the peer reviewed literature with references and you respond with your opinion sans one iota of data and he is the extremist? Are you sure you know how this debate thing is supposed to work?

Just another example of misrepresentation. You cannot take the decomposition methodology to suggest that that the bulk of the wage gap is 'explained by choices'. It just means that we have an explanation for why equal pay legislation can only have a limited effect on narrowing wage gaps. For example, we have to consider occupational crowding. A standard wage equation, for example, cannot be used to understand labour market segmentation (where discrimination leads to women being over-represented in the secondary sector, associated with lower wages). Neither can it understand aspects such as glass ceiling and glass cliff analysis. We'd need feminist approaches to burrow down into these type of issues.

White man takes away his own right to life (almost), liberty, and the pursuit of happiness:

"When the ex-con finally went to the hospital, a balloon of marijuana slipped out of his anus while a doctor was operating on the gunshot wound, court records show."

No, you really can't make this up and it is too bad he didn't take his own life. At least he most likely won't be able to reproduce more criminal idiots.

Women’s professions are paid less...an example is teaching. What can be more important than educating our children? Who educates them mostly? Women! Nursing is the same way but now they are being paid more because more men are entering the profession and more women are becoming doctors

Ultimately equality is in women's best interests and women will achieve more if they are equal.

Disregard gender for a minute and consider this thought experiment.

There are two people applying for a job with a fortune 500 company.

Let's call them candidate A and candidate B

Candidate A takes accountability for the consequences of their actions and choices and candidate B does not.

Which candidate is likely to be hired and be an asset to the company???

    Clearly it's candidate A.

Do you disagree that ultimately equality is in women's best interests and women will achieve more if they are equal???

Teachers already get paid way too much for what they do.

For 90% of teachers 99% of their job is accomplished when they just show up.

Furthermore, the difference in wages is simply a case of supply and demand.

80% of physics graduates are men. 80% of elementary education graduates are female.

Many people can leisurely walk a mile in under an hour very few can run a mile in under 4 seconds.

Moreover, running a mile in under 4 seconds is more rigorous than walking a mile in under an hour.

Getting a degree in physics is more demanding than getting a degree in elementary education. Moreover less people can get a degree in physics than can get a degree in elementary education.

It's a shame that you decided to ignore the post and how it demonstrated misrepresentation of the decomposition technique

Regarding discrimination in general, the feminist approach to the issue is pertinent. Power divides are key and of course those divides destroy well being for both individual and economy. That makes decomposition misrepresentation even more tutworthy. Choice is, after all, often illusionary.
