There are not 60 senators who would vote to legalize abortion, no matter what cut off you suggest.

Abortion isn't birth control. All rights have limits. Right?

There are LOTS of abhorrently evil things that we leave up the the states to punish: murders, rapes, robberies, child abuse, arson, etc. Why would we NOT leave it up to the states to punish how they see fit? They're the ones with the general police power, not the Feds.

How many states are any of those things legal? I think we have federal laws against all those anyway.

When birth control is only 95 -97% effective - yes, sometimes abortion is a form of birth control. Let's be real - when couples have sex
a conglomerated 50 - 60 million times a year, it's very possible that there will be 100,000 unintended pregnancy when those birth control
    methods fail.

And bottom line - does a fetus know the difference between a miscarriage at 8 weeks and an abortion at 8 weeks? No.

That was already established with limits on third trimester limits in every state.
I'll ask again, does a fetus know the difference between being miscarried at 8 weeks and being aborted at 8 weeks?

    As does a miscarriage.
Are you mad at God for not making every uterus perfectly?

One is due to unsolvable problems in the mother’s system or the fetus is not or wont be viable. (many still births are carried to term then birthed normally).
Abortion is a healthy mother “getting rid of a problem”.

A miscarriage is a body's attempt to "get rid of a problem" as well.

And to the fetus, the difference is what?

Abortion isn't birth control. How many times do I have to say it?

And the DNC platform could include repeal of the 2nd Amendment. But it doesn't. Why is the question?

If it's controlling whether a fertilized egg is carried to birth, how can it not be?

One is a problem of health and viability, the is convenience for the mother.

That isn't what it's for. Using it as such is going too far.

You people are being handed middle ground on a silver platter and you still don't want it.

One is a subconscious decision, the other is a conscious decision.

Prove to me that a decision for abortion is simply not a mother's realization that the subconscious process isn't working properly.

I've know two women who were manic/depressives who decided on abortion. During a manic stage, their inhibitions were lowered
and their decision making process as regards to sex impaired - but they both realized that going off their meds to carry
to term would be disastrous - so absolutely, there are times when abortion is a necessary tool for birth control.

How are we gonna figure out which one it is? Should women have to register their pregnancy? Should the state track their cycle?

Keeping legs closed is 100% natural with no side effects at all (IE: No allergic reaction) and has a 100% effective rate of preventing pregnancies.
