By voting, those individuals are more likely to feel invested in the outcome and thus more likely to start following the political process and the issues going forward.

Sounds good in theory, but in reality, its the other way around.

And now trump looks masculine and patriotic in his mask.

Your cult of personality is shameful.

How about people who have no idea who is calling them or asking them and see what happen's to people who say they support Trump?

Oh you don't want to answer. Tough ****.

Hillary polled at 50 or above, on the average, a grand total of 4 days in 2016. The latest happened in March.

And "last time" was 2018 when Republicans lost ~390 seats at all levels of government.

    Feel better?

Meant enough to get trump to wear a mask and tweet that it makes you patriotic.

...those who aren't interested become less interested after voting? That's your theory?

No rational person fears telling a pollster about their support for trump.

But you are desperate to explain why he is polling so poorly, so you do you.

You must know that many democrats definitely wanted Obama to support gay marriage before 2010, right?

Of course they did. They supported a horrible homophobe and didn’t care. Hypocrites.

    *sigh*

He wasn't a horrible homophobe. He just didn't support gay marriage in a time frame when a majority of Americans didn't support gay marriage. But you feel free to rage about "hypocrisy" from 8 years ago instead of addressing the topic of this thread if you feel you must.

Interestingly enough, Biden was one of the first major political figures to come out in support of gay marriage. And he arguably forced Obama's hand.

He looks like a guy in a mask. Notice he only wears one when applicable.

And here, "applicable" means "when the polling demonstrates that a key component of your base is demanding that you wear a mask."

It existed before the attempt to get them to vote. They would not need influenced otherwise.

    We

No, interest comes first. I takes a lot of time and thought to know what you are doing. Propositions, judges, etc. Those making quick, mindless decisions based on the letter by their name or the few words underneath their name are not going to suddenly start doing research. Society is better off without their vote.

I disagree because, as I said, it is entirely possible that voting will encourage more interest and thus make them a more informed and more active member of society going forward.

Anything is possible. What you propose would be like electing candidates using a random, lottery-like system.

At no point would that experiment justify being scared to tell a pollster that you support donald trump.

    Where?

    Ha Ha...

I thought this was an interesting tidbit I found today on RCP....

They are certainly not being very brave with their list of "toss up" states at this point, but see if you can detect the one state in this list which was just recently added and would be a mind-blowing defeat for the GOP should it happen... and it's not even Texas or Ohio anymore..

I don't see it happening, but I find it interesting anybody would even consider it a toss up at this point.

Cook's Political Report just switched Florida to "Leans Democrat" for the Presidential Race and this report denotes a "Tsunami Warning" for the Republicans because their hope, at this point, is for a repeat of 2018.

    Tsunami warning for Republicans

Yeah, but I was referring to Missouri in the toss-up column.... that's gotta be a shock, and I haven't seen any polls backing that up....

A repeat of 2018 would be great, although it's gotta result in a Blue Senate...

And Hillary is STILL not President of the United States! That is what makes me feel better. How about you?
