Are you saying that anyone who is a conservative is automatically an "extremist, racist, ignorant, right wing yahoo dick"?

Both parties use identity politics as a strategy. They even use the party system as identity politics.

How many people use liberals or right wing or progressive or conservative while attempting to make a point?

All of this can be defined as identity politics and it is ****ing pathetic.

I'm sorry, but that is identity politics regardless of what your perception of the term is.

Uh no Identity politics is what the Klan and BLM practice. It is not an argument over the size of government.

I don't necessarily dispute this notion. I think that we can all agree that generically speaking, Democrats are for a bigger government that redistributes more money from top to bottom which would without question garner more votes from those at the lower end of the economic spectrum. To whatever extent that Blacks are at the lower end of the economic spectrum, I would fully expect those at the lower end to vote Democrat, although I'm not so sure the number at the lower end is 90%.

You have to put my post into the context of the post to which I was replying. They had just put forth the definition of identity politics as being the "tendency for persons of a particular race to form exclusive political associations". Personally, I think that is a misleading way to define identity politics, but in responding to THAT definition, the 90% plus aspect is highly relevant.

To me, the aspects about Democrats that push identity politics are not defined by the 90% number, but rather by the notion of purposefully breaking everything up into groups with the underlying motive being to gain political advantage by virtue of that division. Because of their homogenous voting patterns, African Americans are the only reason that democrats ever win National elections. Whites vote roughly 55-45 for Republicans, so what that means is that after 100 white voters, Republicans have a plus 10. Because blacks vote 90% plus for Democrats, that means that after only 11 black voters, Democrats have a plus 10. From a PURELY racial perspective, 11 black voters counteract 100 white voters. If this society were to ever become truly color blind, one would have to assume that blacks would no longer vote 90% plus for Democrats because in a truly color blind society, race would no longer be a determinant of anyone's vote.. As a result, in a strange twist of irony, the party that preaches that they want equality and racial harmony, have the most to lose from racial harmony. If you think for one second that Democrats haven't done the math on this, I have a bridge Id like to sell you. For this reason, Democrats are constantly stoking the flames of racial tension. Democrats keep alive the notion of the KKK, although none of us have really seen any legitimate KKK activity for many decades. They make white supremacy sound as if its an influential movement when it barely exists outside of prison gangs. Whatever tiny extent that those two groups do exist, they certainly are not substantively involved in politics. Democrats are constantly spinning everything into a racial component like voter ID. Republicans, myself included, sincerely believe that a person should be required to identify themselves in order to vote. There is nothing racial in that desire, but because inflaming racial tensions is good for Democrats at the ballot box, they act as if that is the true motive. I could literally go on and on with this subject, but I think I have conveyed my point.

Stoking racial tension is identity politics, which is PRECISELY what you were doing.

If knowing the facts stokes racial tension in you then that is a you problem not a me problem.

The fact is that Identity Politics has been the core of Republican politics since 1968.

Respond to what? I'm sure you think that post showed your brilliance but it showed nothing but the arrogance of ignorance.

The first few sentences do nothing but describe the motives for Republicans suppressing Black votes while the rest is just you bitching about having a third of the Republican party exposed on a regular basis as racist White Supremacist.

That post may pass for wisdom in your little moss covered pond but out here in the big water we recognize it for what it is.

So you don't believe that Democrats have the most to gain from racial division? Have you looked at the math ? Being that both parties are mainly concerned with self preservation, why would Democrats want a color blind society?

Step away from your pre programmed "Republicans are racist" arguments for a minute, and look at this from the 20,000 foot view. Do you think it is possible that the frenzy that you have been whipped into about the KKK and White Supremacists, may be a function of exaggeration promulgated for political purposes? When is the last time you read a news story about either of those groups that wasnt a political piece attempting to tie them to Republicans? The last time I remember seeing a legitimate news piece on the KKK was around 1980...they were planning a parade in a nearby town. It drew a lot of attention, and I think it ended up being 5 or 6 guys marching down a street.

It was begun by Kennedy. After his assasination LBJ pushed the bill through the House and the Senate. It was a bi-partition effort. Northerners, regardless of party, mostly voted for it. Southerners, regardless of party, mostly voted against it. Now, as then, there are far more racists in the south.

None-the-less, today, all of the racists are on the Republican side of of things. In fact, in political talk, I've noticed a curious pattern. One day all the Republicans/conservatives will be going on about how horrible blacks, their leaders, and their associations are, and then the next day be claiming that it is not they, but Democrats who are the racists. You are fooling no one.

How is pointing out the obvious errors in fact in your opinions an argumentative fallacies.

Actually you seem to be following a common pattern. You come on here and start spouting, with the confidence of an expert, right-wing propagated silliness. Yet you quickly discover that liberals are not the weak minded morons that you have been deluded into believing they are. You learn this as they lay out for you the dishonesty, and silliness of everything that you have been indoctrinated with.

It is extremely widespread. Across America there are hundreds if not thousands of radio station that pound out this garbage, day and night, day after day after day.

It has gotten to the point where there has arisen a simple explanation for the political divide in America. Those who vote Republican accept the constant propaganda stream as fact. Those who vote Democratic see through and reject the propaganda stream.

But the person you were quoting made no statement that would indicate the people he was talking about who are being attacked are "masquerading". Why even bring it up then? Do you have evidence that all conservatives are just "masquerading" as conservatives?

Your information is obviously not true. How silly of you to even post such silliness.

A while back I was talking to a friend of mine who teaches biology at a University. He was telling me that it has become rather common for a student, or two, to continually objecting to whatever is taught, that doesn't agree with their conservative Christian worldview. He tells me it is as if they have been specifically trained for such behavior.

None-the-less it seems as if conservatives are more interested in dragging colleges down to their level rather than going to colleges to improve their minds.

Actually not. If you look into real world data, you'd see that not only are liberal dominated areas more economically productive, but also provide more services to help up those on the bottom. Compare the west coast to the Southeast.
