Why do abortionists feel like sexual intercourse is a fundamental right?

This isn't about you or anyone else's moralistic view of sex - it's purely about the biological fact that a human fetus is a living person and has a right to life. If a woman (or man) wants to have sex with 100 partners, it's not you or anyone else's business - she'd just better use contraception or have her tubes tied, rather than be too lazy to use contraception, then think she's entitled to kill a fetus to cope for her own laziness. This is why many atheists oppose abortion, because they know it's not about some religious fundamentalist view on sex, it's about preserving human life, rather than placing laziness and convenience as higher values than human life.

Why on Earth do men think that having a surgical procedure is "easier" than taking a contraceptive???

Which would you rather do - brush your teeth every day or have a root canal?

Actually since you are male perhaps that should be - take precautions each time or be sterilised??? (remembering of course that sterilisation causes significant bruising in an area that men are traditionally sensitive about any impact)

Sean - a friendly observation - don't assume too much, be prepared to argue your points but don't suggest, "No one who supports the right to abortion can give a valid reason for advocating abortion". It makes you seem closed-minded.

Now - why shouldn't a pregnancy be terminated?

No, a foetus is a foetus. The concept "person" is socially defined. Like "adult" and "child" and "baby".

Human life isn't of itself sacrosanct. It's a temporary state of existence. Most of us believe that that temporary state of existence should be as long as possible and as happy as possible while acknowledging that into every temporary state of existence a little precipitation must descend.

"Traditionally sensitive" might be replaced with "innately sensitive".

You are referring to male ego aren't you?

    Errrrrrr, yeah!

It just honks my horn that so many imply that abortion is somehow "easier" than contraception or that women are too dumb to work out that prevention is better than cure

    And slave, master, property, etc.

I agree - nothing was so sacred about all those Jews in the concentration camps, it was just a temporary state of existence anyway, what's the problem? lol

I wonder if the men on here doing all the complaining about women being "too lazy" are among the 17% who do not know which way up the condom goes LOL!!

(has mental image of unrolled condom sitting upside down on top like a cap)

(Sarcasm alert***) You should be afraid....women having power over their OWN BODIES is a scary thing. And the next step is that women will be demanding power over men's bodies. They'll be demanding that men have sex with them whenever THEY choose. OOOOOOH, men will be powerless. (end sarcasm)

Well when I pull out a gun and shoot a random stranger, I'm just exerting power over my own body - it's my own finger on the trigger - who's the govt to tell men what to do with their own bodies. lmao
