Why do Americans value the ability to own a gun so much?

Isn't it ironic that Michael Moore is a gun owner and he never talks about banning guns or taking them from anybody?

That was something I never knew. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

My basis of him was the lie of the bank that he said gave everybody a firearm when they first signed up for an account. According to the film, he walked in that bank, and came out with a firearm.

The lie is that the bank would give you a voucher at a firearms store, then when you turned in the voucher, they would do a thirty day background check on you before they gave you a firearm.

When somebody ridicules somebody else for doing the same thing they are doing, I sometimes think that they are ridiculing that person to get them to stop so that they, the one doing the ridicule, can have that all to themselves and feel special over it.

It's clearly stated in the Constitution, if you'd care to read it

Is that true? That left wing loser is pro 2nd amendment? I guess that makes sense - half of America wants him dead.

Any time my city slicker friends call, I always ask "you still living in that place where they require you to drink government water?" LOL

Here in Central NY, good land is about $850 an acre to $1,100 an acre. Cheaper in quantity. I see land go for as little as $750 an acre if you wanna buy 100 acres at a time. And that's a nice amount - 100 acres. That will give you about a quarter mile by a quarter mile of land. If you get 100 acres that has 30 or 40 acres of woods, you can pretty much just hire a mobile saw mill company to come out and cut your logs and whatnot so you can build your log home from scratch. All you need is a concrete pad, a spring well, and a septic system and you can do the rest mostly yourself or with some buddies. A 2,000 sq ft log home should cost you about $40K all-in, plus your sweat equity (and the land). If you prefer someone did the work before you; there are beautiful farms you can buy that are already in used and lived in and would set you back a total of $150K to $250K. And taxes up here are $1K a year for farms.

This is the view from my bedroom french doors in the morning:

What happens to the lazy people that were welfare queens before anarchy? 64% of blacks in USA are or have been on a major entitlement program. You think a black will learn how to hunt, fish, and make a shelter? Or you think he will grab a saturday night special and 10 of his thug friends and come take your stuff?

Why were they on entitlement programs in the first place? What if the state was what was keeping them down in the first place by putting into place racist legislation? Wouldn't they then be better off without the state then? So in the end, why would he be violent if he has everything he needs?

You'd have thought the thrill of gun ownership would have fallen off in direct proportion to the increased consumption of Viagra but, nah, that isn't how it has worked out. The guns have gotten bigger, but not the penises.

Moore is not only a gun owner, but he's won a lot of marksmanship trophies. He's not as much anti-2nd Amendment as he is against the slaughter on the streets. He's taken on that portion of the populace who can appreciate a good slaughter. Can't win doing that.

Oh really? Tell me what good is a freedom if you can't use it? What about all the freedoms out there, should a government give you the right to all of them? Wouldn't that then include murder? Those wall lengths and widths, those are all part of the theory. But the color of the wall? Leave that to the homeowner. You don't have to be that specific. That's one of the good things about theories, they're flexible in that regard so they can fit the needs of any society.

Think of them as consumers out to buy something. Simply figure out who will pay those costs, and there's your group.

Ok. Good to hear. No idea where the funding would come from either.

    Yes it would.

Then you stunt the growth of those fields which is detrimental when they have to build policy around that. For example, let's say that a business wants to sell a product. They need to know what women are going to react to by studying their values as a group, otherwise it's going to be a flop. Even then, that's just going to lead to an a lot of people going into a few fields, that's bad economic policy right there because the market will be thrown out of equilibrium due to the influx.

We're not talking about policy, we're still on the theory. We're at the part where I have to justify my theory in the real world, you're just trying to say that policy couldn't be built off of it while I'm countering that it can be done.

The OP's presence isn't needed, simply why he decided to post in the first place is all that is needed. But I get what you're saying. Might as well continue. So let's get a quick recap of my theory, if the government supports a positive right or outlawing negative rights, it can increase the costs of committing a crime. So does this have a real world effect? Yes, we see this in the real world. Think about sex education, that's a good example of Positive Liberalism working. Promote the right to safe sex by offering education on how to have safe sex. This in turn lowers the rates of teenage pregnancy. So if we look at it in terms of Positive Liberalism, by pushing for a positive right (right to safe sex) they got lowered a negative right (right to get pregnant while a teenager). If we look at costs, they increased the "cost" of getting pregnant by teaching people how to use a condom, birth control etc.

Doesn't Rand Paul want Eric Snowden to come back? Also Obama isn't really too keen on Snowden.

I'm on the right now? Did Jesus say that to you telepathically during one of your prayers?

Nope. His design was a myriad of FTF's. That's why the next version had the forward assist. Which didn't help most of the FTF's by the way.

What racist law would you be referring to? The secret law the liberals think exist that says "negroes are required to sell crack and commit robberies instead of going to school"? That legislation? Or the secret law that says "negroes are not allowed to take personal responsibility for their life decisions and their actions"? That legislation?

When you say "have everything he needs", do you mean the whites should all go to college for 6 - 9 years and get advanced degrees so they can make lots of money to buy negroes a house, 2 cars, all the furnishings, and give them a $5K per month per person allowance? Because I only want to work to pay for my own family and not for some useless thug who prefers to be a welfare queen than an actual member of society.

Just went out for an hour and played with the Remington 700 PSS 20" fluted. I had put a Springfield Armory Gen IV scope on it over the winter. I really like the internal level and the way you dial it in for 200 and then there are individual marks for 300 through 1,000.
