They vote based on arguments put forth by the candidates. Some people didn’t decide until they got to their polling place.
Most of those more radical progressives are too unruly to do a serious and honest introspection. Rather what I suspect will happen is the more moderate faction of Democrats in the party will attempt to wrest real control away from the more unruly progressive radicals, and kick out any of their leaders who won't "play ball" or who can't be "reasonable" and "make a deal". The mainstream media is also going to change their tone a little bit, to be more cautious about driving the Leftist mob into a frenzy or imparting ideas that would make them too radical and go off the agenda.
I figure most of the current white house staff won't have jobs by the end of January. A few of the better known ones will be hired by MSNBC and such. But the majority of staffers will be returning to their hometowns and potentially their parent's houses. In about a year, their books will be published. I will be so excited to read those and learn what really occurred in the Biden white house!
That might have been the case. It will probably a long time before the United States elects a woman for President. There may be one someday.
Soon as we have a female candidate that isn't a freakazoid idiot, we will. Keep running the Kamalas and the Hillarys and the odds are against it.
Remember you said this a year or two down the road when Trump really starts showing the signs of his cognitive decline and MAGA puts up a front of complete denial. That front already exists now.
I blame the victory of Trump, who I hate, first of all on Joe Biden, who I like, and voted for in 2020 and 2024. Early in his term he should have announced that he would not seek reelection. That would have opened the Democrat presidential nomination to a more appealing candidate than Kamala Harris, who again I voted for in 2024. I blame woke, critical race theory, and efforts by some Democrats to blame whites for high rates of black poverty and incarceration. I blame the sympathy some Democrats had for George Floyd and the riots that followed his death. I do not think the electorate is ready for a woman president, at least one who wears pants.
I don't think it matters to the electorate if it's a women who wears pants or not. Kamala is just genuinely stupid and it was obvious. The right would definitely vote for someone like Candace Owens
If Tulsi gabbard would have ran I would have had no problem voting for her and I don't think many conservatives would have had a problem
You are absolutely right. And these points you mention are some of what the dems claimed Trump was for and so they labeled him a fascist.
The thing of it is: Biden dropped out realizing his age and had Kamala Harris run for President in his place. I don't know if were to be the right thing. Trump stayed in there and held his place. If Trump did the same thing that Biden did, would JD Vance win over Kamala Harris the same way? Only time will tell. 2028 is a long way off for now.
You're right about that. Trump wanted to get back to the White House to immune himself from the criminal charges pressed against him. There's no telling what will happen for the next four years with Trump in there. We'll have to wait and see.
It isn't progressive Bernie Sanders types that lost Democrats these elections. It was establishment insiders repeatedly rigging primaries and blocking actual progressive policies. Sanders would have beaten Trump in 2016 or 2020. Somebody like him could have beaten Trump in 2024 as well. The Democrats fear actual progressive primary candidates more than they fear Trump.
Blaming the voters instead of the politicians failing to win their votes is a strategy that will ensure you continue to lose.
What I think is that, in one way, it’s much easier politically to be the minority party because you can’t be held responsible for anything. Republicans won big. Now they must govern and govern well. If they don’t, the people will turn to the Democrats.
per the queen B Pelosi ""“Had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race,” the former House speaker said in an interview with The New York Times, suggesting she had anticipated an “open primary.”"" https://archive.ph/hyrdw#selection-641.0-641.209
Hindsight is 20/20... Better luck next time. When is that old dinosaur going to go away? Congress should be a place of public service and not a retirement home for Nancy Antoinette
The house according to FoxNews this AM the GOP has a 213-202 advantage. CNN has it 213-205. https://www.foxnews.com/elections/2024/general-results/house https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/r...e&filter-flipped=false&filter-remaining=false If one goes by flipped seats, the republicans have flipped 6 democratic seats, democrats have flipped 5 republican seats, a net gain of one seat. Chances are we’re looking at a 222-213 GOP advantage give or take a seat once everything is done. Why? I look at voter turnout. Trump received 74 million votes plus change in 2020, he’s standing at 74 million plus change today. He didn’t gain any votes. Harris on the other hand has fallen far short of Biden’s 81 plus million votes in 2020, she sits at 70 million plus, 11 million votes behind Biden’s total. 11 million folks who voted for Biden that stayed home this year failing to vote for Harris or anyone else for that matter. No doubt Trump’s 2020 voters were very loyal to him, turning out again this year. Biden voters in 2020 weren’t as loyal to Harris. My theory on why 11 million less vote, why they stayed home and didn’t vote this year? That they still disliked Trump and still didn’t want him as president. But they viewed the job the Biden administration which Harris was part of as VP has done over these last four year as a failure or at least a bad job done. Their choice, voting for a candidate they disliked and didn’t want or voting for a candidate representing a party, an administration who they view has done a very poor job of governing. They opted to just stay home rather than choose.
The current longest serving person in Congress is Chuck Grassley (R) who has served for 50 years. Pelosi didn’t even serve 40. This isn’t a partisan issue; this is a public refusing to change the diapers issue.
I am surprised Harris didn't win. The Democrats for years, especially sense Obama got elected, to wrap up the majority of the voting population. They kissed the rear of every minority group there was. Even to the point of flying the gay flag over all our Embassies. They catered to everyone. They talked many into voting by mail. Fought against anything that would keep anyone from voting like voter ID's. They went hard after the female vote. Same with the student and Black vote by paying off school loans and promising free money. They would buy their votes no matter how much it costs. Government was going to pay for it. They knew they had the union vote, or thought they did. They had almost all the bias news to repeat their lies and propaganda. Got the FBI to get Social Media to hold up posts that were counter to the administration's policies. I mean to their and my thinking, how could they not win. They thought of everything. Brainwashed our students through Liberal teachers. Trouble is, the economy was hurting millions. People couldn't afford to buy or rent homes. Older people had to choose between food and medicine. Their policies were so far to the Left, people didn't recognize it anymore. They were all for flooding America with illegals,(Future voters). They approved of allowing men to compete in women's sports using women's locker and bathrooms. Trash sex books were now ok in school libraries. Nothing wrong in leaving the sex of the child off the birth certificate. Let them choose later what sex they want to be. If a convicted murder wanted a sex change, go ahead the government will pay for it. They went after Trump with a vengeance. Called him everything but a human being. They charged him with every crime they could think of. Would have gotten him for jaywalking if they could. They knew those impeachments were wrong and many of the charges. I think many voted for Trump to help him get even with the Democrats by winning. It will sure play out different in the history books now that he's won. They completely misjudged the American voter. Their stupid policies made many fed up. This is no longer the Party of Kennedy or our father. They wouldn't recognize it today. They keep blaming each other. They still haven't a clue why they lost and never will.
