As of this morning, Robert Mueller's lawyers have been consulting with members of Congress in order to set a date for his appearance before Congress. It's tentatively scheduled for May 15th, of course that's subject to change.

As far as Don McGahn is concerned, his appearance before Congress is up in the air since Trump is claiming 'executive privilege' preventing him from testifying publicly. The White House has no legal basis to prevent him from testifying since Trump waived that privilege in order for Don McGahn to testify with the special counsel for more than 30 hours. That genie is already out of the bottle. Going forward claiming executive privilege to prevent him from speaking publicly is simply a stall tactic that will take this case to a courtroom. Ultimately, they will lose that argument because there's already two precedents, the last set in 1998 when President Bill Clinton became the first president since Nixon to assert executive privilege and lose in court, when a federal judge ruled that Clinton aides could be called to testify in the Lewinsky scandal.

The question now is whether William Barr will move to prevent Mueller from testifying since he's still legally an employee of the Justice Dept? We have an Attorney General that's enabling Trump and not working on behalf of the American people and the Constitution, and that's dangerous for democracy. The intentional stonewalling by Trump, Barr and Republicans in Congress is virtually signaling the end of the power of Congress. They are relinquishing their duties and powers according to the Constitution and are being eviscerated. They need to show they're a co-equal branch of government or our democracy according to the laws of the Constitution, or this is all over.

    Totally :applause:

    Who cares :bored:

Look at it this way, Democrats could be holding meeting on how to punish Americans and destroy America, but instead Trump is drawing their fire and America is flourishing. The more trump Russia the better.

I can't wait for Mueller to testify.

My first question, "Why did you take 22 months when you knew from day one there was no collusion?"

Nadler cares. He'll hang every one of Obama's stooges out to dry in exchange for 1 good 2020 meme. Least interested in Muellers testimony? Bob Mueller. Sideshow Bob still hasn't agreed to either of 2 proposed Dates, May 15 or 23. Dedicated public servant?

I'm not sure. They may try to block it.
It's one thing to try and wade your way thru his report, but another thing to get the narrated version. It would be very damaging to Trump.

Don McGahn's public testimony would be really bad for Trump also. During the Nixon hearings, it wasn't until the public witnessed the testimony of John Dean that the tide of public opinion changed against Nixon. I'm hoping that Don McGahn will get to testify because I feel that when the public hears it right from his own mouth, it will have an impact.

Thank you for admitting you only want to smear. The fact it never happened or would have been perfectly legal doesn't matter to you. McGann should testify then pull a Lois Lerner and take the 5th.

Don McGahn testified under oath before the special counsel, so yes, it happened. I only want the truth and if the truth smears Trump then so be it. Trump ordered the White House lawyer to fire Mueller, then lied about it. That's obstruction of justice and that's what he testified to. I doubt if hearing it right from his mouth will make any difference to you and many others who don't care if he shoots someone on Fifth Avenue and is destroying democracy in this country as we've known it. But there are still a lot of people who only voted for him as an option to HRC and a lot of Independents who will never vote for him again.

Was the special counsel fired? If he wasn't then there's no obstruction. If he said he wants to rob a bank, but his friend talked him out of it is he guilty of a crime? So far in this country we don't have the thought Police. The Democrats don't have a single candidate that can beat Trump.

    The OP is pure ignorance.

It is not "Obstruction of Justice" to not have Mueller testify.

    Also... FACTS

    (1) The release of the Mueller report was against the law the Democrats created after the Starr Report, but Barr did it anyways to appease them.
    (2) Releasing the full unredacted version is against the law
    (3) The full unredacted version is 100% available for top Democrats to view.
    (4) Trump released over 1.4 million pages of records requested by Mueller with zero delays.
    (5) Trump made his entire staff available for interviews with no exceptions to Mueller.

The only people harping on about this are Conspiracy Theorists that put politics over reality.

You're one of those that if Trump held a gun to someone while robbing them threatening to shoot, it doesn't count as a crime. The Congress will establish (once Republicans quit stone-walling) that Trump had a corrupt intent to obstruct the investigation. Mueller's report also makes a convincing case that Trump attempted to abuse his power.

Seeing how it will not change the report that is public what is the purpose of Mueller testifying?

"Corrupt intent"? Show the statute where that's a legal term please.

Mueller didn’t find evidence of a criminal conspiracy, but provided substantial evidence that Trump’s campaign sought the Russians’ help in 2016. He left the obstruction decision to Attorney General William Barr but provided substantial evidence that Trump at least attempted to obstruct justice. https://www.lawfareblog.com/special...-analysis-corrupt-intent-and-take-care-clause

It would be a huge mistake to prevent a proven honorable, and patriotic public servant to testify.

Answer - "Because my investigation was obstructed at every turn, Trump was too big a ***** to sit with me, and your question is inane garbage. Do you have anything else, Congressman Jordan?"

On topic, it should be fascinating testimony, as I suspect Robert Mueller knows more about the Mueller report than Bill Barr. I just hope they work out a better Q and A system than what I've seen in any Congressional hearings recently..

Matters not... We'll probably learn some very interesting things about what Robert Mueller believed his task, conclusions, and limitations were...

    ...

    ...

Oh?? Am I required to post a meaningless video clip now?? Sorry, fresh out...
