Yeah I forgot about those nuts.

Yeah I agree and it does speak volumes (of good) about the larger populous in those countries. They are getting sick of it though and they are standing up to the tyrants.

It does not take away from the fact that there are dangerous fringe elements out there (some running things) that need to be dealt with.

The Catholic Church and the Spanish Monarchy were joined at the hip, Crawdad. They were called the Catholic kings and were subordinate to Rome.

The Caathrs were very rich and the Church was in debt to them.

How much Islamophobic trolling are you allowed to do? We get it, you irrationally hate Muslims, so there is no need to make any more threads.

I have no interest in watching a youtube video of some ignorant bigot telling me his ignorant bigotry isn't ignorant bigotry!! If you want to make an argument, I will read it, but I am as certain as one can be, that it will be a waste of my time and will make me stupider having read it!!

Are their Islamic terrorists blowing themselves up claiming to do it for God? Yes! Is the Taliban GONE? No! Are there still governments using Islam as a tool of hate? Yes!

So is it irrational hate of Muslims or is it a hate for the nutters? Hell Margot just applied it in reverse practicing her apologetic attitude. No it has not gone far enough. Only when every person on this earth stands up against all of the fringes will this stop.

I read something recently on "the inquisition". I was amazed how it all started in Spain, and it involved some monks who went around doing good things for people, and then it pissed off the local Catholic womanizer priest, and how it actually took place in Europe, South America, and ended up going on into the Renniassance in Italy.

Before that, I always thought it was like Saturday Night Live's "Theodoric of York, Medieval Judge"...or just a breif period of witch hunting and burning, where people came to thier senses in a reasonable amount of time.

One has to wonder why some people so strongly condemn the Christian right in America for being too conservative yet they apologize for people who make us look like liberal progressives in comparison.

They blow themselves up over political disputes, but yes they claim God is on their side. What does that have to do with anything? Members of al-Qaeda are an exceptionally small percentage of all Muslims. I mean we are talking .00000000000000001% probably. Members of any terrorist group(though al-Qaeda is the only group to have attacked America) are similarly a tiny minority. Why are all Muslims judged by the standards of what a tiny minority of their people do?

There is nothing wrong with the "Christian Right".. there are poorly educated Christians on both sides.

Too many have been duped by Hagee, Tim Lahaye, Hal Lindsey, etc... and fallen victim to poor scholarship and politically driven heresies.

For the same reason Christians are judged by the acts of a small minority. Perception is the issue and we will remain vigilant until such a time that we feel the threat is gone.

But you don't look like liberal progressives in comparison.

Islamic fundmentalists in the middle east hate many of the same things righties in the US do. They hate contraception, divorce, gays, sex out of wedlock, rap, minorites living in thier neighborhoods, welfare, and so on.....

Are you shure you are not speaking of the Knights Templar? They were huge financial lenders to the Church and French crown and were destroyed in my oppinion over their money and territory. The Cathars on the other hand was a heresy that did not recognize the Popes authority (rightly so). True many were backed by French nobles but I do not believe that was a driving force for the Church.

Exactly....wasn't it Bush that was bragging about how there were only 150some Al'Queda left in the middle east?.....that is about .0000000000000whatever% of the population of Afghanistan or Yemen.

How many are killed in a given year in the name of Christ in the United States?

Millions are killed in the US in the name of the state though: Abortion.

Have you ever heard of an oil company called ARAMCO? There are thousands of American Christian families who lived and worked there since 1946............

I hope you can explain how you hold the bible to such an exact standard but you're willing to contort your brain and spin your mental capacity for the benefit of the koran.

That would be unlikey since the Cathars were nonviolent. THough perhaps the nobles that supported them might have. Very interesting realy, but I guess we are off topic. I think they were talking about some grand conspiricy to take over the world or something.

You are hallucinating.. I know the basic concepts of Islam because I grew up around Muslims and have read the book..

I just hate ignorance and the wholesale lies and demonization of anyone.. I would have been the same way over Nazi propaganda towards Jews..

    Answer what?

There are Americans all over Saudi Arabia.. Halliburton, Schlumberge, Saudi Aramco, Fhuad Company, GE, Alcoa... the list goes on and on.

They tend to just have a Catholic Service, non denominational Protestant congregation and an Episcopalian congregation....
