So Israel invests in a few nuclear submarines if the political situation starts getting that dire. One nuclear bomb would make a serious dent in Israel, but don't tell me the Israelis wouldn't have the chutzpah to totally nuke the Arab nation they held responsible for the outrage in response. The use of a nuclear WMD is not just another terrorist outrage but rather is several factors more serious; a chemical attack would be much easier to shrug off by comparison and that would cause enough trouble. As for the hypothetical terrorist nuclear attack; why hasn't it happened already. It hasn't happened because multiple intelligence agencies in multiple nations have a vested interest in preventing such an event and getting fissionable material is a non-trivial task. The actual use of nuclear weapons on Israel by a Muslim nation-state is a completely different situation that my post already dealt with. As for the vulnerability of Israel to nuclear weapons, 4-6 nukes each would kill (immediately, or with lingering burns and/or radiation poisoning) the populations of all Israel's immediate neighbors (either small areas themselves or incorporating a lot of near-empty desert that doesn't need to be nuked) in any Israeli retaliatory strike.

I think it's unlikely, at least as we know it at the moment. America is the active power behind Israel and America is in decline. If America gets pissed off with Israel, there will be enforced peace or the destruction of the country. Even if America rebounds, there may well be other political concerns that'll force the same. Whichever way, single entity states with nasty policies don't tend to last all that long.
