I suspect in the end, Russia will win the economic war as increasingly countries and populations of those countries want to move from the American economic (and military) camp to the Russian camp.

The real "massive attack" Russia may be able to pull off is taking oil and gas off the US dollar. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned one aspect of this bill is that it removes the president's power to rescind sanctions once applied without congress approving.

This is a bald usurpation of executive authority. The imposition of the current sanctions on Russia et al were the result of executive order. Now this bill comes along and prevents Trump from rescinding Obama's executive orders.

Once again our government has pulled a propaganda coup on the American people; raising unfounded fears and false characterizations to such a level as to 'do the wrong thing' for some created 'right reason'.

This, folks, is how we step away from the constitution and hand our country over to special interest crazies. Our republic is dying the death of a thousand cuts and this sanctions bill is just the latest.

In the meantime, America is using new techniques which could make us energy independent in the near future. We may even export oil.

If we export oil to Europe and Europe's dependence on Russian stocks ends, the Russians will be finished as a political power.
