Would you, or not, consider saying this prayer with me?

So then you now believe that Jesus was a liar for saying "....the only way to the father is through me....", right? Can you say he was a liar, or that Jesus was mistaken? Can you be as intellectually consistent, as honest with yourself, as a Modern Secular Humanist? I issue you a friendly challenge.

    Revelation 19:20, 20:10,14-15, 21:8. John 14:6, Acts 4:12, 2 Thessalonians 1:1-10, John 3:18, John 10:27-28, Mat-thew 10:32, Luke 12:8, John 5:2, John 3:36, John 6:47, Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9.

And I challenge you to give us a verse where the all-loving zombie says that non-believers get into heaven....a loving person would have said that in his 33 years, of course. Especially since he's god, and all.

Jesus didn't say those with no faith will go to Hell...That is what YOU claimed.

an, I admire your thoroughness (are you like an accountant or something, wow.) Ok: New International Version:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

    - - - Updated - - -

This pretty much disagrees with you:
    New International Version:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6
So I guess the Pope is a liar, or doesn't have this verse in his Bible, huh?

    - - - Updated - - -

Great, so now you can leave the hateful, unscientific, barbaric, ancient belief system of Christianity with no penalty. Go for it!

Excuse me, but just WHERE in that quote you provided does Jesus absolutely say those with no belief will go to Hell? Look the Pope doesn't even agree with you. Time to give it up...Your whole OP just got blown to smithereens. I will pray for your enlightenment.

Elsewhere in his book of hatred it says that hell is a place of barbaric torture. You have to put two and two together. He certainly doesn't say the opposite, that's for sure. Don't give the zombie a pass just because he's a lousy communicator. I expect more from an "all-knowing, all-loving", self-proclaimed king of the world - who is allegedly so powerful that he can listen to everyone's prayers all at once, and is 2000 years old and lives up in the sky in his invisible magic kingdom.

You are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. Also noted is your apparent abject hatred of believers. I bet, if you could, you'd throw THEM all in your made-up Hell.

We do not know what Jesus wanted but the doctrine of Protestantism (and fundamentalism in particular) is that if one does not believe in Jesus (receive salvation) one will end up in hell.

All you have to do is reimagine your God and the prayer won't be necessary. Beats me why you need to imagine a God that is contrary to what you like to pretend is your caring about your family when we suspect you actually are deep down inside happy that your God is going to punish them for whatever imaginary harm they have done you. Suggest you seek counseling

Sure we know exactly what Jesus wants. He wants you to be one of his minions forever. Once you join his gang you had better not ever think about leaving. He's a mean hater and holds a grudge forever.

John 15:6 (KJV) = "6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

Notice that if you remain a member of his gang you will get to toss the slackers into the fire and burn them alive. How cool is that?

Good one ! Why is it that these folks who claim to be devout Christians are so ignorant of their own religion ?

John 15:6 is a good verse to quote when people start babbling about what a nice guy he is. Ask them if they want to be a people tosser on the fire detail. Sounds like ISIS work.

Is there a religion that believes you can pray someone into heaven against their will? Seems felonious.

I don't think your prayer will work, at least with certain strains of the Christian virus:

Nonsense, Modern Secular Humanists are far more moral than religious people, so I honestly would NOT throw them in "hell" - I have far more compassion than religious people do - they are fine with Jesus' barbaric Auschwitz-like scheme of sending people to eternal torture for basically a thought-crime! Savagery at it's worst. I do admit that I hate Jesus so much that if given the opportunity to free the moral non-believers from hell, I'd certainly kill Jesus if he stood in my way. Killing Jesus to save innocent people would be well worth it, of course.

    Great post.
Do Christians/Muslims have a "virus", or a "delusion", or a "disease", in your opinion? Or is there just a lot of intellectual cowardice going on with them?
    Have a great night.

Jesus is no better than ISIS, we can all agree.

Sounds like Mohammad. Jesus sounds no better than Mohammad.

Wyrd, you are a constant inspiration to all people of reason on this forum.

Fortunately as you can tell from my signature line, I'm a Modern Secular Humanist, so I don't generally talk to invisible people who live in the sky (well at least when I'm not baked), but this exercise in praying is good to get people thinking about how to be more ethical.

    Have a great night.

Obviously Jesus fully supports this too - because if he did not (and was all-powerful and all-knowing and all-loving as advertised) he'd of course have come down some time in the last few centuries and educated us that this was all wrong. His silence is approval, of course.

You have no proof of that. Show me the stats.

Also..WHICH 'secular humanist morals are you referring to?' Where are these morals written? Show me the Secular Humanist manifesto. Where did those morals come from? Some other human? What if another human disagrees with your 'Secular Humanist' morals? Who is any one human or group of humans to say THEIR morals are the best?

Morals come from the belief in a HIGHER POWER created and/or acknowledged by other humans....Morals are at the foundation of any society. Once those morals are compromised, the society will fall.

I actually used to mutter similar prayers, in all earnestness, with tears in my eyes when I was a kid.

    - - - Updated - - -

And how are those morals written? Show me a manifesto shared by all who believe in a "higher power." Where do these morals come from -- specifically, from which higher power? From some other human claiming to speak for a higher power (which is the only source we have for any higher power)? What if another human disagrees with your interpretation of "higher power" and prefers their own instead?

So, you have no answer either, other than parroting what I wrote and cutting out part of my post. Figures.

And, as your response shows, you are left with the same lack of answers that you attempt to foist on others. Your "position" is nothing more than special pleading.
